Today I called in to order lunch for work. The man who answered the phone, the Manager, named Andy was very condescending while taking the order. I would not give into it and continued on with my order. The first thing was I asked for extra sour cream with two of the orders. He proceeded to say "well that is going to be an extra charge". My response was no problem. I then ordered Shrimp Fajitas and his response was "Well that is going to take a half hour" with a huffy voice. Again my response was no problem. I order from there all the time so I knew what the wait time was going to be. I asked if I could get sides of the sauces that are on the table and his response was " when you come in we can give you cups and fill them up yourself"...really I am picking up lunch. What if I was having it delivered? I get there and the order of 4 lunches are in small bags. I asked if there were bigger bags so I don't spill everything over myself and the car. The response was "no we don't order larger bags". Ok no problem. Lastly I asked are the extra sour creams I requested in the bag? Response from him AGAIN was they cost extra, I said I know you told me when I requested them on my order so I should have payed for them. Andy said well you can go through the bags yourself and see if they are in there. Really? Customer service is lacking. The sour creams were not in there and he did not mark on the order that I requested them so I indeed was not charged for them. How was I suppose to know as they don't give me an itemized receipt? I requested I don't pay extra for his incompetency of taking an order and Andy said I can't do that well in the end he gave me two extras. If he is new he needs a lot of training. I worked in the food industry for many years and never once spoke to a customer like this. At this point I will be only going to Texas Taco in Sayville. Oh an there was extra food in the bag when I got back to my office. I hope I did not pay for it as I didn't order it. Resolution: give me an itemized receipt letting me know what I payed for and send Andy and take is manager position away from him and put him as an associate. That would be my recommendation. The cashier was great she is very nice and I hope the man who was always behind the counter, not this time, is still there because he was very nice and everything ran perfectly when he was there.
Update 8/13/22-I returned to Avocados because the food is good and I met one of the owners, James, and Rob who is a family member. They are both really nice guys and I asked them "so the other guy isn't hear anymore" and James replied, "you mean Andy?" I said yes as I am the one who put the review up regarding his behavior. They apologized and was so appreciative of my business and happy to see me return. I explained that I wouldn't let one bad egg keep me away from great food! Thank you James and Rob for correcting the situation and making the experience so much better! BTW the shrimp quesadillas...
Read moreOn Saturday 5/4/2024) my friend and I placed an online order for delivery using her credit card. The website said the ETA was 6:16pm. So, we gave it to 6:30, thinking either the driver got lost or they were a little busy because it was Saturday. Then my friend called and the girl who answered sounded so bored and she had no professionalism. She told my friend they weren't delivering (For whatever reason) but somehow our order went through. When my friend asked why no one called to inform us there would be no deliveries; the girl claimed they were really busy and we could come pick up the order. So, when we got there? Yes, there were people dining-in but they occupied two tables. There were maybe three or four people waiting for their food and maybe three people waiting to place their order. Yet there were employees behind the counter standing around. It wasn't like they were hustling at all.
If someone had called us after receiving the online delivery order and said something to the effect of, "Hey, we apologize for the inconvenience, but we're not doing deliveries today. Could you come pick up your order and we'll refund you the tip paid on your credit card?" that would've been the professional way to handle it.
When my friend explained that she'd just called and she wanted her delivery tip refunded, the guy behind the counter stated he would refund the tip and apologized for the misunderstanding. He also said he would make the food fresh, right there.
But the girl (same girl whom spoke to my friend on the phone) looked like she didn't wanted to be there AT ALL. She handed my friend a cash refund for the tip.
My friend said this was the first AND last time she'd EVER try delivery from Avocadoe's. To add insult to injury, the food was NOT fresh as my friend's chicken quesadilla was dried out and the churros were slightly warm.

Read moreWas just there today to meet my wife on our lunch hour we walked in and ordered a burrito and nachos together and proceeded to get drinks and a table and wait for our food, we were sitting there for a decent bit of time and we start to realize people that came in well after we did and ordered at the register getting their food before us. My wife went up to the counter first to ask how much longer and the brunette working the register told her they were working on it now, a few moments go by and still we haven’t been called to grab our food and we don’t have much time left before we have to get back to work so I go up and I get the same exact answer with a nasty attitude from brunette working the register. We waited as long as we could until we needed to head back to work so we decided to approach the register for a third time and see if our food was ready yet and it wasn’t so we asked to be refunded, how hard is it to make a burrito and some nachos? Clearly the brunette that took our order needs to be trained properly on how to talk to customers and how to work the register. We wasted our entire lunch hour waiting for food we clearly were never going to receive. I’m beyond disappointed being a previous customer and safe to say I’ll be going elsewhere from now on and also letting my friends and family to also stay away from this so called...
