Edesia Restaurant & Pizzeria — Restaurant in Town of Islip

Let me start by saying that as far as I can remember, this is probably the first negative review that I have ever posted. Even in the past if I had a bad experience at a restaurant, Ive never had the urge to completely crush a place until now. Ive ordered takeout here a handful of times and the food is mediocre at best but its close, so sometimes its just convenient. So I called in an order for pickup and there must have been a bad connection because it sounded like whoever picked up the phone could not hear me and said "Hello" a couple times. Finally they must have heard me say "Id like to place an order for pickup" and A man who sounded older with an Italian accent (whom I am assuming is the owner) replied "You need to hurry up, Im busy". Being taken back by that, I replied "what?!" And chuckled a little thinking that the man was possibly joking around. Well he wasn't because instead of taking my order he just hung up on me. I Thought this was pretty funny that somebody who expects to run a successful business has absolutely 0 clue on how to talk to people. Having owned and operated a business myself it actually made me laugh as to how someone can be that rude on the phone to someone before they even placed an order and still expect to run a successful business. A word of advice, Maybe you should give your customers a chance to try the Mediocre food that you serve before you decide to have an attitude. From the looks of all the 1 star reviews on here, a good portion of them are complaining about how rude or nasty the owner is. If that doesn't tell you something, maybe you're in the wrong business, or maybe you shouldn't be in any business at all. Definitely won't ever order from here again and I will also make sure to crush this place to anyone who asks me for an Italian restaurant recommendation. I'll travel the extra 10 minutes to deal with someone who isn't...

Great place! Delicious food! Not just your "regular" pizza. This place goes above and beyond what we know to be pizza. It is the "real" Italian experience! If you are a connaisseur, you will appreciate the top notch quality ingredients, and authentic varied Italian menu. From rice balls to stuffed shells, heroes, pastas, etc... The Mediterranean decor and Italian music takes you back for a moment, where you might think you are on vacation! Not to mention that the place is beautifully decorated, and absolutely spotless! What an awful experience the owner of the business was rude and disrespectful and started a fight with myself and my buddy over napkins I've never experienced such an event he is just an awful human being...plus the smell of alcohol coming off him was shameful...he was cursing and calling us horrible names this man does not belong in public...just a real terrible human being...I will never step foot in his pizzeria ever again...he should not have the right to interact with the public....if I were able to give him minus stars then I would have...he should be ashamed...
