Casa Vieja — Restaurant in Town of Islip

I’ve been ordering from this place for a while now, and the last few times their quality of food has been horrible, I’ve never been someone to give a review of this type but omg, I ordered 4 churrascaos ala pobre medium and what I got was burnt meat with no flavor on top of the fact that it was a regular churrasco not the description of what it said online. Then one of the orders had a hair in it. The meat was so hard and has no flavor, I paid $120 just to throw it in the garbage. Prior to this my husband called them about another other that we had placed we’re we had the same issue. I really wanted to give them another chance but these people just want to take your money and give you this horrible food. I’m so disappointed it’s like they just threw the food in the containers. Don’t order from here and if you make sure to check your food before you leave that place. Will never order...

Based on the reviews, I was looking forward to a genuine tasty Latin food experience. I was thoroughly disappointed! I took the choice of bread and butter, and got American style little mushy white bread rolls. I ordered the beef stew, which came with rice and beans and fried plantains. It all came together on a big plate. The "stew" had no broth, and the beef was little semi tough pieces. And I mean little. The rice and beans were completely average, and I could get the same quality from a frozen meal. The plantains were rock hard and tasteless. Pretty much the whole meal was bland. I did enjoy the Refajo beverage, which I've never tried before. I said yes to hot sauce, which barely had any zing to it. The service was functional, but not particularly warm and welcoming. I went for dinner with my family, and that was the worst experience ever. I've seen In different reviews about the arepas. They want to charge you for them when in the menu it says that they are included in the meal. Food is horrible, steak is so hard and dry it tastes like cardboard. And on top of that when they bought my food out it was cold. On service, our server was kind of rude, he was rushing us on everything. And when he bought my check, the tip was included on my grand total.They were charging 18% of tip without asking you first or anything. I guess he was expecting more money in top of that because when he took my payment he just looked at it and gave me a look. I would not recommend this place, the service or food to anybody.
