Dark Horse Tavern — Restaurant in Town of Islip

Dinner was fantastic!! I had a steak panini that was cooked to perfection. The fries were delicious and the portions were excellent. The atmosphere was open and airy and easy to view sports games. The staff greeted me with smiles and we enjoyed a game of darts. It was warm and friendly and the prices were reasonable. Claudia, the bartender was very sweet and attentive. Alex, the bar back was quick to assist with anything I needed and was so kind to help me with my choices. The service was impeccable whether you are a party of one or a huge family. They are able to accommodate for parties and all types gatherings, it's a really large and wonderful space! I enjoyed my experience and suggest it for all who are looking for a fun place to eat, drink and watch your favorite sports while enjoying their great drink specials. One of the worse dining experiences I’ve had. Starting with the entertainment. The guy was extremely loud as well as off key for most of his songs. Server was nice. The food and drinks however were absolutely horrible. I ordered a Zippy (a pretty common cocktail for the area) so I would assume the bartender would know how to make it. What I basically got was some cheap ass rum in Hi C fruit punch. I ordered the Short Rib cheesesteak. Which was dry, tough pot roast on a roll that was coated with Garlic powder. Not sure where the cheese was but it wasn’t on the sandwich. My husband ordered the chicken pot pie. It basically was like canned chicken a la king with a piece of puff pastry just plopped on top. I am surprised by this statement, as it does not reflect my experience. I was completely sober and simply stepped out to take out my jacket. I was not slamming my head or acting intoxicated, and I left respectfully after being denied re-entry.I kindly request that you review your security footage to verify this between 2:45-3:15. I’m very happy to discuss this directly and calmly. I’m also concerned that my honest reviews are being repeatedly removed, which feels very unfair and unprofessional.
