Mixed feelings about our recent visit to this Mexican restaurant. The experience was concerning from the moment we walked in, with a hostess who didn't even greet us, instead silently staring until we mentioned our reservation. Her only words were "follow me" - no welcome, no pleasantries, setting an unwelcoming tone from the start. While there were some bright spots after this initial interaction, several service issues significantly impacted our birthday celebration.
Let's start with the positives: The drinks and appetizers were excellent and came out promptly. The initial service was attentive, suggesting a promising evening ahead.
However, things took a noticeable downturn after the appetizers. After waiting for about an hour, we began wondering about our entrees. When our server checked on us and asked about dessert, it became clear she had forgotten to put in our main course orders entirely. While mistakes happen, this was a significant oversight that threw off the rhythm of our entire meal.
After bringing this to her attention, our entrees arrived about 15-20 minutes later, but unfortunately, my order was incorrect. Instead of the carne asada fajitas I ordered, I received a regular carne asada plate. The correction took another 10-15 minutes, and it was evident that they had repurposed the steaming setup from the previous dish, resulting in overcooked steak that didn't meet expectations.
We had specifically mentioned this was a birthday celebration, but the acknowledgment fell flat with just a glass of whipped cream served as a "dessert." This felt more like an afterthought than a genuine attempt to make the occasion special.
Pros: Excellent drinks High-quality appetizers Quick initial service
Cons: Forgotten entree orders Incorrect order fulfillment Long wait times for corrections Overcooked meat in the corrected dish Underwhelming birthday acknowledgment Poor communication throughout the...
Read moreMe and my partner have been coming here for many years, and decided that it was the perfect place to celebrate our engagement with my family. We made a reservation on OpenTable as usual, because it could be a little crowded. Last night was supposed to be a very special celebration for us, and instead turned into a very disheartening experience.
Me and my fiancé walked in first and grabbed our table while we waited for my family, ordered 2 drinks and got started with choosing our entree. I see my mother at the door and it looked like she was having trouble getting in. My stepfather, who does not speak a lot English, looked confused and started apologizing to me. I was confused, and the security guard told me he can’t come in because he is wearing an Under Armour tank top. My mother then pointed out men at the bar for me and said they are wearing something similar. I understand that you’re doing your job as a security, but don’t humiliate us without checking your surroundings. If tanks weren’t allowed, then the men at the bar should have been told to leave. Were they regulars? His friends? It would have been one thing if he was nice about it but he was so aggressive to my family. I became so aggravated but instead of arguing with the guy, we took our belongings and left because I lost my taste to this place completely. While walking away, the security guard yelled “take a hike” with his friend.
That hike costed you a lot of years with us. We’ve been coming here about once every month or two for the last 3 years.
That hike costed you a lot of money we were going to put into this establishment for an engagement party or bridal shower or baby shower. I was so excited to let my family know after our dinner that this was going to be a spot for a celebration, and now we have to look elsewhere all because a security guard thought he was macho enough dehumanize my stepfather in...
Read moreWe wanted to try a new restaurant on Main Street and decided to give this place a try. I like the ambiance of the restaurant and think they have a fantastic bar. For dinner, we sat on the back patio (which we didn’t even know existed) and thought it was a great space for dinner with the family or even a small event.
We ordered a variety of cocktails and all of them were great! They were well balanced, not skimpy on the booze and well priced. So no complaints there.
The food….. the menu had a lot of interesting and appetizing options. We ordered an assortment of appetizers and dinner items. There were 8 of us including 4 kids. Two of us ordered the carne asada fajitas, and I honestly don’t remember what the two other adults ordered, but the kids had quesadillas from the kids menu.
The food was a bit pricey. Which was fine- however we all felt that the food was really just mediocre. In fact most of us didn’t even finish our meals. I’ve seen a lot of reviews praising the food here and it makes me wonder if they have ever really had VERY good Mexican food because the food here def. Fell short of flavor. It wasn’t bad- but it wasn’t great either. It was literally just okay and I actually said while eating- other than the cocktails I have no desire to ever eat there again.
Service was slow. The restaurant wasn’t really that packed (fairly empty actually) and it took A LONG time to get our food.
However; service was friendly. At the end of our dinner the owner did come over, introduced himself, asked us how everything was (we were polite and said it was great) and thanked us for coming. So...
