Ok.. what can I say. Wow! I don't typically give out 5 stars, but wow again! Don't be deceived by a small eatery with no tables nestled into the Brentwood community for the past forty-five years. I thought the same thing, that is until I bit into the famous hot pressed chicken sandwich. Varrrroom... Fire up the transporter engines. Cuba here we come. This sandwich takes me back to a time when I was doing a job down in Cuba, and around the corner from where I was living, in a very unsuspecting town and i was coaxed into trying the local aubela specialty. For the love of humanity and all that's sacred, try this sandwich! I'm not just asking you; I'm seriously telling you to try this sandwich. My head is still in a tizzy and the taste has still been lingering for the past two hours. After that sandwich, i'm not sure if I ever really lived in Cuba or it's the food talking, but whatever it is bring your passport, just in case. De acuerdo ... qué puedo decir. ¡Guauu!
Read moreThey re-opened! awesome!.... eh.... maybe not. Have been eating here for two decades on and off. This time around we ordered the chicken sandwich, pernil sandwich, and the cuban. The prized chicken sandwich was blander than we remembered. The pernil was ok. The cuban was skimpy on the meats, but my brother still loves ordering it for the nostalgia.
Update 6/8/22: Stopped in for lunch and got a few chicken sandwiches, mondongo, and pollo a la brasa over rice. The chicken sandwich was standard but has gone up in price to $8. The mondongo had alot of tripe meat, not much vegetables, and felt like it was made in a rush instead of being stewed. The broth was watery and lacked flavor in lieu of extra salt. The rice was in the soggy side, and the chicken was tender but bland. The rice had more flavor than the chicken and sauce. Unfortunately I'm gonna have to drop this down a...
Read more7/14/23… I ordered their Chicken Sandwich (which I’ve gotten multiple times before and i love!), and either the chicken or the mayo in the sandwich I got went extremely bad… i took a bite and threw up, it tasted horrible… like chemicals. I opened it and it smelled horrible, and it was extremely slimey and covered in something almost gelatinous. I tried to call to tell them they should check their ingredients incase something went bad, cause I know their best sellers are the sandwiches and I don’t want anyone else to get sick, and they kept saying things that had nothing to do with what I said, and not understanding what I was saying. I never tasted something with such a rotten taste, and I’m upset this happened, because I love their sandwiches, but I don’t think I can...
