La Slice Pizzeria — Restaurant in Town of Islip

This quickly became my absolute Favorite pizza place. The bros in there are always super nice . Patient. And helpful. From suggestions to answering 101 questions. Even when it's super busy they never just straight up ignore you or rush you like most places who don't value your business cause they don't think they need it. . . The guys here really genuinely want you to enjoy yourself. Just the nicest ! The pizza choices and side dishes are displayed and everything comes out crispy and they give plenty of sauce if you need it. Which I Do! Oh and they have these pepperchinis I like which not alot of places do. I usually go after the gym but now I go whenever I'm in the area or craving pizza! They're open from 10 to 10 and always bright eyed and bushy tailed . I went there at 945 PM last night and I've been given stares and death glares but Not here.. I didn't even realize they were closing until they started cleaning up! They were so non chalant about it. Even waited for us to finish before clearing away the area. I don't know if I would've be able to hold out if it was me.. We only ordered 10$ worth of food between two people! ... they Definitely hooked it Up tho! Most places upcharged so much for extra marinara and for extra sides like pepperchinis. They could've easily charged us 15$ (Regular slice, this massive roll thing with cheese meat and spinach, cut in half i thought he got 2! x2 bigass marinaras, bottle of cherry vanilla, and side of pepperchinis!) They even bring the food to you so you don't have to stand there and wait. Even when it's busy! The only place I've found that treats all orders amounts and people with the same respect and patience. Rather its 5$ or 30$ ... they hold you in the regard of a friend or neighbor.. not just as an annoyance or takin up space or tables. They keep it clean and the fridge stocked with all types of drinks from sodas juice and teas. The utensils are hygienic single dispensed. They got all the seasonings at the tables! The only time I've ever seen them even slightly barren is when it's non stop lunch or dinner rush. And even then you just ask and they get you whatever you need! Overall just the chillest and nicest pizza place on the island! Ps. We always seem to get too much food haha they are awesome about the go...

I always liked going here, always loved the food. I recently got off the phone with a rude young man because I tried to cancel my order and receive a refund and he would not allow it. It is now 8:26p when the food should’ve been here by 7:45. But anyway, I called at 7:45 to cancel the order and the young lady stated The food was already on its way and asked what was my reason for cancellation. I told her I did not need the food any longer to which she had a young man answer the phone. Completely spoke to me as if I was a child and kept repeating the word “like” after every word as if I couldn’t comprehend. He then explained the same thing the young lady did and stated they made the food already and it’s on its way. I explained that since I have not received it I should receive a refund because I don’t have the product but he kept repeating himself in a degrading way to mock me and stated “why would you order the food if you Didn’t want it or knew that you couldn’t accept it ? That’s not nice”. Like bro are we children? Who has the nerve to say that? I explained that I can’t control if something comes up in my life as things happen outside of peoples control. He then says he will issue a credit and leave it in a “credit book” for the next time I come in….as if I would again. If he’s in charge, he has an immature, terrible, unnecessary attitude that I’ve never experienced in my life from someone that works with customers. Customers get under my skin too and it may cause me to lose my temper as well but it’s common sense to give a refund for a product you did not receive. Now I’m sitting at home 8:30p and still nothing. If me getting the credit also meant that the food was no longer coming, they did not explain that and made it seem like since it was already on the road that I would still get it or had to take it. Jose and his team were INCREDIBLE from start to finish. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars.

We did a tasting at La Slice and knew IMMEDIATELY we didnt need to look any further. We tried eggplant rollatini, penne alla vodka, chicken francese ( honestly one of the best Ive ever had), bruschetta( mouthwatering), and more.

Then came the wedding day. We had our own catering staff and they provided the food. WELL...... Jose and his team noticed that the staff were not preforming as they should and took the reins. We did a buffet style and he instructed them with the timing to put everything out. He stayed well past the time he allotted to just bring the food. Jose takes pride in the joy his food brings to people and we feel so fortunate for the HUGE roll he played on our incredible wedding day.

Lastly, the food for the wedding was out of this world. Every person raved about it for weeks and months after the wedding. The wide selection from pork slides , spinach and artichoke dip, pastas of so many kinds. The careful detail to include all dietary restrictions (vegan, vegetarian, carnivores lol) without compromising taste and selections will be his legacy. Time and time again we will recommend Jose and his team and cannot thank them enough for the effort they put in to making every single dish full of...
