over priced and charged more on top PRICES ON WEBSITE ARE NOT ACCURATE. Even pizza bagel is $3.50 not 2.50. sandwiches are $2 more. And they didn't honor the online prices they advertised on their OWN website that they manage. Not external site.
My experience. I was on the phone with my significant other when he went to order the food. Not only did the guy who took the order started going off about me being picky, he said " wow she must be hot ..." I will let you guys decipher that... My order was a ham, turkey, LT, Spinach, salt +vinegar, pepper jack on wheat bread. It's not that difficult...it's a cold sandwich that requires no cooking. But. Apparently that was too complicated of an order... (I can admit I am a picky eater..and if you are too you need to remember : if your paying for food you should get what you can actually eat and be able to enjoy it. As a food establishment, they should have maintained a level of professionalism and courtesty to consumers. If you were allergic to something and need to place special order you wouldn't want to be called "high maintenance or annoying". Honestly it is NoT that hard.
For that and three bagels, they charged us $32 and had to wait more than 30 minutes. He was already late for work at this point so we so we're not gonna lose out more money, so we asked for the prices, why it cost so much. ( if they we're quick we would have left the price alone since he had work) But they weren't gonna get away with taking 30+ minutes and overcharging us.
After 10+ minutes of back and fourth and two ppl trying to tell us an everything bagel with lox spread and tomato cost $5.99
And 2.50 for a Snapple.
The final price was $25... Thats a $7 difference. That's a whole another sandwich...or bagel at their prices.. So not only are they overpriced, they charged us more on top of that!
The whole process took an hour and now I haven't even eaten because I needed to write this review and let everyone know to please becareful, if you think something. Is off you need to speak up and don't be afraid to be wrong. Because the price isn't always right.
If the food is decent I'll leave this alone..but if it's unacceptable or if they got the order wrong...
Read moreHi, I'm from North Carolina. It is pretty rare for me to be able to actually give a place 5 stars. I actually would give it more stars if i could. And this place very much so deserves it. I was visiting with some of my husband's family and one of his uncles took me to a place called The New York Bagel Company for breakfast. This little place and the staff are just really amazingly wonderful! Very helpful and very nice. With a very comfortable and welcoming feel in the whole place. With amazing and oh so yummy and fresh food choices. The guests are quite amazing and friendly as well. One really cool thing is, on the walls are these little brown bags with an idem or so written on it from the menu and a receipt in it as already been paid for. People go in and get what they want for themselves and when they can, they will buy something(s) for those in need. They come with a little note on the bags. And whatever is written on the bag is what anyone in need can get. Without any cost to them, without judgment, and with compaction. And people aren't greedy about it in any way either. There's bags with already paid for coffee and other yummy things from the menu just as a friendly gift to someone in need. I Highly Recommend The New York...
Read moreI’ve been going to this bagel place for years and every time i go my experience just gets worse and worse. The employees are always miserable, never friendly and make no effort to ensure your items are correct. I always check my order before i even step out of the store and 95%of the time it is incorrect. It is very disturbing that now they have sign posted saying it is NOT a violation to touch money with gloves and keep that same pair on to touch your food. when i worked at a bagel place you WERE REQUIRED to throw your gloves away when handling any form of money, debit cards ect. You always got a NEW a pair of gloves for every customer. Every single time I go in there i see the workers wearing the same pair of gloves for the whole visit. i could only imagine what kind of cross contamination is going on behind the counter. Very unfortunate because i live very close but after my visit today i will no longer be going to this dingy bagel spot. Save yourself the trip and give Bagel Cafe in Nesconset a try, friendly staff and an abundance of foods. Bagel cafe is always clean and i’ve never had a problem like i have problem with NY bagel co. Extremely dissatisfied with NY...
