Pollo Campero — Restaurant in Town of Islip

Our first visit to Pollo Campero. Had seen all of the reviews and we were looking for something of better quality than some of the other Chicken chains. Pollo Campero did not disappoint!!!

We were greeted warmly by the server behind the counter. She helped guide us through our choices (all excellent) and our food was ready (hot and fresh) in just a few minutes.

The store was spotless (and there was actually a staff member cleaning the dining area while we waited to keep the area clean).

We appreciated the fact that the boxes that the chicken and sides came in were all vented. Too many times you order food somewhere and it’s soggy by the time you get it home.

We tasted the food as soon as we got home and it was amazing! The chicken was moist on the inside but crispy on the outside. It was so flavorful, too. For sides we ordered the yucca fries, sweet plantains and coleslaw. Each of the sides were equally delicious.

We don’t order in chicken often, but when we do, Pollo Campero in Central Islip will be our new go to spot!

my experience in el pollo campero vas very satisfactory . my first time there was about a week ago & i’m very proud to say that this fast food restaurant had very high quality service . i was confused at first about something with my order because it was my first time but then this worker came & helped me out. the way she explained things were very efficient. workers should be a bit more like her . i asked for her name she said it was nicole . so hopefully she gets recognition for this review because i will surely come back for another...

Very disappointed. Just had this fake chicken with my family, hope we don’t get sick from it. Chicken had no flavor. I feel it is an embarrassment to our Hispanic culture. This is definitely not our taste. We did not even bother tasting the plantains, the smell tells us the age of the oil they were fried in. My husband and I are both in the food industry and know better. We haven’t had this in a while but we thought we’d give it a try. It will definitely be the last time we visit a...
