I really wanted to like this place since it's the closest deli to our office, but alas all my experiences there were subpar with just ok food and not a super friendly atmosphere created by the staff. Then, I had TWO separate unfortunate incidents there that now make me never want to go back again. First, I bought a bottle of soda that I didn't realize until I left had a broken seal and I had to throw it out. I would've gone back to return it, but there was never a good opportunity so I let that one go. The 2nd incident happened yesterday when we ordered a large lunch order for our staff over the phone and our receptionist went to pick up the order. I had ordered a mixed green salad ($6.50 on the website) but they had given me one with goat cheese and cranberries that I did not order and charged my credit card $9.23! When I went back today to kindly ask for a refund of my $2, the manager blamed it on our employee who picked up the order saying she must've picked that one out on her own. I tried to explain that I don't think that was the case, but he insisted. And I also called him out for charging $8.50 for a small bowl of lettuce and handful of cranberries and goat cheese. He would not budge and said, "$1 for cranberries, $1 for goat cheese...that's the price." Well sir, I hope that $2 was worth it to you to lose my business and the business of my company. He should reconsider his customer service approach and realize that if you work in the service industry, your goal should be to make your customers happy so they keep coming and spending. I'm leaving one unhappy customer and one that's not afraid to share her opinions to others in the...
Read moreI'm surprised at some of the negative comments. Either I'm missing something or the competition is jealous and sending out trolls. From my experience with this deli, I greatly suspect the latter. I've been in town for a couple of months on a project. Typically, we order lunches from a 'preferred caterer', but when we do not, I head over to the Ronkon Deli for what I consider to be excellent sandwiches and a fair deal. They have always been nice and have never failed to offer me two included sides in addition to a sandwich on the daily deals. It costs 5 or 6 bucks for a Big Mac Meal, so I don't think that a fresh, heaping sandwich with two fresh sides for 8 bucks is even close to being out of line. And the freshly-baked Whoopie Pies are to die for...or so I am told :-) I certainly did not meet anyone there that I would consider DUMB, but, then again, I was not there when the anonymous poster allegedly paid $8 for two pieces of cheese on flatter-than-flatbread bread. Alas! A missed opportunity to meet him or her. I usually do not post on these sites, pro or con, but we're ordering from there this week and I saw the unfair posts, so thought I'd chime in. I highly recommend...
Read moreI always thought the owner was bias against colored people, but today proved it when I walked in the Deli and waited in line and the Deli worker notice me. and someone cutted in front of me and he did not even say respectfully that gentlemen was first. I feel like the owner is little bias against colored people. Nothing about looking in the mirror your customer service sucks and attitude I get from from your Deli is hostile and rude and that why your review is not great just FYI. today was the last straw and hopefully you have a change but it's not me I give you many opportunities but always the same issue I always encounter when I come to your location. It's a shame because I work 2 building over and I have to up the road to food shack where there more friendly and take care of me. My answer back to you should have little better customer service and may be you will not have all...
