The most inconsistant bakery in the past few months, different prices when i go in their alot of times as i was just in their today telling them that i was charged a lower price days ago and the clerk was extremely rude and should have honored that price as i have been a long time customer ( over 20 years ) Their prices have skyrocketed since they've changed hands. The girls behind the counter are generally nice but the older woman with the short dark hair is one of the rudest people i've ever came across, she's the one that i almost got into an argument with. They lost me as long time customer. While i was there waiting to place an order, i overheard her speaking to a customer and when she hung up with the customer she was saying things under her breath that didn't seem very nice. Goodbye Stanly or who ever the new owner is, I recommend Pat's Market down the road, prices and quality are better as well as attitudes or if your willing to take the drive, A & G Bakery in North Babylon, They are and have always been a great bakery, it's worth the drive! Unfortunately i am unable to respond to your response so i will do it here. The price that i had told the rude clerk i was charged should have been honered but instead she decided to act the way she did. I was a 20 year plus customer of ur bakery. It wasn't the money which was about $1.50 additional, obviously which i paid, it's the rudeness i will not put up with and being told to " have a happy new year " in a condescending way was not the way to handle it as i was walking out the door!...Let me also say that after my wife was informed of what happened, she will no longer be stopping by on Fridays to drop about 20 to 30 bucks to pick up donuts and rolls for our office!. Read moreOkay our wedding cake had major problems with people at bakery for delivery of cake the restaurant was less than 5 miles from bakery strip steak in great river bakery refused to deliver there from noon to one for our party at two went back and fourth about it 5 times not once 5 in the week before our wedding finally one of the staff offered to do great gave her $40 tip said ty and thought this was done nope two days before wedding they call and say how do you want cake decoratated which was discussed two months prior with pictures and emails on what was supposed to look like had another fight they’re upsetting my bride 6 times two weeks before wedding so get that dealt with okay wedding day this is the kicker that I haven’t dealt with just yet cake supposed to be delivered at 1230 or one restaurant open and they have manager phone number to call just in case something happens well it did cake wasn’t delivered door to restaurant was open and nobody called manager the kicker is nobody called or contacted us to say cake not there so restaurant took it upon themselves to go to bakery and get the cake which they didn’t have to so ty to them but my bride now had that to deal with on wedding day at party I would never ever ever recommend this bakery again I’ve been going there since I was a kid I’m gonna miss their doughnuts but this was totally totally unforgivable and unacceptable don’t ever get your wedding cake there if you don’t want problems!!!! Read moreI have been going to Stanley’s for my entire life and have always been happy until this past week. I purchased almost 2 dozen donuts (jelly and custard) for an important event and they were completely stale….both kinds. I was so embarrassed. I called the store and she said her manager was not in but took my info and said he call the following day. Next day, nothing so I called again…girl I spoke to was rude and not helpful at all. She said, ‘well, we are busy right now’…took my info and said manger would call back. Still waiting for a call. From what I understand, there is a new owner for the past 3 years and I’m sad to say….but with the quality of food and customer service….i don’t see this bakery continuing to be successful. Very sad as I said I have been going here for over 40 years.
**IN REPLY TO RESPONSE: I’m sorry to say, but we were never asked to bring the donuts in because I would have explained that we were in CT and that would not have been an option….like I said it was a special event. The donuts ‘tasted’ stale and easily crumbled. Maybe you’re using a new recipe as they were lighter in color than the ones I am used to.
