South Shore Deli — Restaurant in Town of Islip

I've been hitting up the local delis for egg salad sandwiches, and I take probably the strangest egg salad sandwich anyone's ever heard of. All the delis in the area are well-reviewed, and I chose this one specifically because egg salad was listed on the menu.

First, the place was fully staffed behind the counter and greeted me when I walked in. They were patient with my requests, which I always appreciate. The sandwich was ready quickly and for $13 I had a full day's worth of food in a few minutes.

What you see here is an egg salad hero (on white sesame) with bacon, lettuce, onion and pepper jack. The bacon was crispy and perfectly done for a sandwich, the bread was soft and tasty, the veggies were fresh and the egg salad, while not complicated, was tasty, with plenty of identifiable egg. I purchased a Too Good to Go order which is supposed to be $15 worth of food for $4.99. I was handed a bag containing a tuna sandwich. When I asked where the rest of the food was, the woman behind the register shrugged her shoulders. When I gave her back the sandwich and requested a refund she said "you got what you paid for". and I should see the owner who will be in "tomorrow". The two other female employees behind the counter were smirking . One of them yelled at my wife "have the day you deserve" as we left.
