So happy to have this new wine bar in kinderhook!! It’s great for date nights on a night off from kids (it’s 21+), or to grab some drinks and tapas with a friend or two. So cozy and cute! Reservations are a must if you have a bigger group (4+) as the tables are on the smaller side and intimate. They have great bar seating too. (Probably better to go really early or later like 8 if you have a group) The wine is absolutely delicious as the owner is a sommelier and hand picks wines you would never see on a regular wine menu at your local restaurant. The tapas were all amazing! We enjoyed the scallop special, tuna tartar (I could’ve gotten a second one of these if I had room), eggplant caponata, sardine toast and omg the island panisse🤌🏻 Everything was delicious in that head-nodding-when-you-take-that-first-bite-and-chewing kind of way. It’s so easy to drop in here for a glass of wine and some apps and then head over to the aviary for dinner, or eat here and then go to saisonner for a grilled cheese dessert! Go check this place out, you will not be...
Read morea cute and beautifully designed space with tasty tapas and good wine! I’ve been here a couple times now and my favorite dishes have been the eggplant caponata, the scallops, the mushroom squash toast and the tuna tartare. there is such a great array of wine and the last time I was there I had this incredible red wine that’s hard to pronounce that was delicious…and I’m usually not a red wine drinker! it’s a good place for a wine lover as they have wines that are made in small production that aren’t easily found in store. the service is friendly and prompt and also patient as I asked a lot of questions about the food and the wines. I would suggest this spot as a date night, not great for groups of four as the tables are a bit small, although I believe there was...
Read moreI wish I lived closer to Isola because I would be a regular. Hillary has created such a welcoming and warm space. The vibe is laid-back country coastal, but beneath the casual atmosphere is a meticulously crafted wine bar with thoughtful intention for each and every item on the menu. It's such a delight to explore all the unique wine regions that Isola highlights; I always leave having tried something new. They have also expanded their "Non Wine" offerings (their summer spritz is honestly the best I've ever had). The tapas are delicious and make for a fun and relaxed dinner. Isola...
