Ok, stopped by with several family members on Sunday. Perfect cappuccinos and lattes. The breakfast sandwich with spicy Thai lemongrass sausage and scallion aioli was perfect - and if you have never had a fresh from the oil mochi donut you have not lived. We had a toast special with papaya and other great green tasty treats on it (forget the name but see the photo! ) sweet but paired well with the spicy sandwich. The owner and staff couldn't have been nicer. The giant windows and white interior area are maybe a little stark for some but the vases of fresh tulips on the tables added a bit of color and cheer. Can't wait to come back for lunch/ dinner as my son and daughter in law have taken out on multiple occasions and have nothing but accolades. (and yes, I took a bite before the photo..... I will take that blame)

We've only gone a few times, but each time we've gone in the morning. We grab lattes, gluten free mochi donuts, and GF chocolate coconut cookies. Lattes are strong (which we welcome!). Baked goods are delicious. It may sound ridiculous, but I think it's kind of brave when baked goods have a generous amount of salt in/on them. The savory-ness bring these into a different arena than typical sugar-laden "desserts". Makes them memorable. They even made our kid a special steamed milk drink when they ran out of hot chocolate for the day. She loved the heart on top! Everything is so good that we dream about the mornings when they are open so we can come back. Also best place to eavesdrop on conversations 😂 it's happened to us and we've done it to others-- at least to get the feel of what's going on in Kinderhook.

This is a great place to stop in kinderhook. The food is Vietnamese inspired with a Hudson valley twist. They serve lunch and dinner most days. We got the vegetarian glass noodles which were superb and the breakfast sandwich. The egg was cooked perfectly and the milk bun is made in store. They also sell a few odds and ends as well as some unique pastries. They had a mochi donut that is really unique and a must try, it was very good! The same aff here are also very friendly.

Extremely disappointing experience here that could have been remedied if the staff cared enough to show any level of care. We ordered at the counter at 11:15am and only received 3 orders by 11:40 with 4 orders still missing around 11:50. The staff was completely unaware and seemed to have zero level of urgency in correcting this problem.

The French toast that did arrive was drenched in over cup of syrup and the server spilled syrup on someone in our group as she was setting it on the table.

They automatically added oat milk to one of our drinks when we never asked it as well as an additional meal (yogurt and granola). We noted to the girl who took our order at the register that we did not add these to our order and the response was snippy and rude, asserting that we must be mistaken - someone with a nut allergy does not accidentally ask for oat milk.

The cashier tried to help us get a refund at our request because we were tired of waiting for this food at this point (30+ minutes later) but then she didn’t refund us correctly multiple times and was unable to give us a return receipt. The manager was suppose to come speak to us, but never showed. All in, we wasted over an hour here. It’s Unfortunate because of the few things we did receive - the fried omelette/ rice and mochi donut - were tasty, but would not return again given how bad the service was, even for a casual / order at the...

Straight to the point, I was not a fan of the dark roast. I went in there very enthusiastic and half expecting to become a “regular” after my first visit. I was really hoping to get a good brew and it tasted like something you’d get on an airplane; very similar to Cosmic Donuts, whose coffee was absolutely terrible. I cannot speak for other beverages or the food. The gentleman who served me was very nice.

I grew up in Kinderhook and seeing what they did inside was a little upsetting. It is nothing like the old Treasure Shop which was so inviting and magical. People new to the area will never know what they missed. I actually had a “pang” in my chest when I entered and saw how stark and white it was inside, but that doesn’t really have anything to do with Morning Bird as a business.

In the future I may consider giving them...
