Went for dinner around 630 and they close at 8. To start our waitress was acting as if she was annoyed she had to serve us and also had no personality at all. Once we got our food (which did come fast but probably because there was only two other tables in there) it was clear to see there was absolutely no quality. My "Greek" soup tasted watered down and had no seasoning. The chicken was so dry I couldn't even chew it, pretty positive it had just been reheated over and over. My veal cutlet meal which came with fries was disgusting. The meat was clearly over cooked, the gravy was old and chunky and my veggies had been cooked in a filthy griddle. My fries were at least hot and fresh. This meal was extremely over priced at 19.99. My daughter ordered a half of a steak and cheese sub, and they used a cheap steak sandwich meat that they made absolutely no attempt to even make look appealing. They did not chop the meat and her cheese was barely melted on it. It was extremely dry and had no flavor. My husband's was the Greek chicken sandwich and it was just as bad. All in all everybody's french fries were hot, but I don't think it's too hard to mess up french fries. It's really appalling that this is a local business that the community spends their hard earned money in and this is the product that they serve their community. This food was so disgusting, they should actually be embarrassed. Each individual meal was overpriced for the type of meal but also the quality in which it was or I should say wasn't. After a tip this meal came to $89, I Will never spend my money in this establishment again. If you don't mind throwing away money then this...
Read moreI am currently sad. Why, you ask? Because I just finished my leftover apple pancakes I got yesterday morning at Syros and I live over an hour away and cannot get more.
I found Syros driving around in the dark picking up my kids from a concert at Artpark. Located very conveniently to just about everything, this is an old-style Mom & Pop Greek restaurant with all-day breakfast.
Portions were giant (over two days, only one of us managed to finish an entire meal without a to-go box), and the service was incredible.
Day one they had obviously planned on a crowd, and we saw three servers. Day two seemed more busy than expected and our server was clearly busier, yet my coffee cup never hit empty once. She also immediately recognized that we were back for day two, even with what must be a constant parade of people due to concerts and other tourism.
But best of all, the food. I can’t tell you when I last had pancakes this good. So good that after blueberry the first day, I tried the apple the next day and they were somehow even better. Prices were very reasonable (the $3 charge for bacon came with at least six pieces!), and lunch items were also reported to be stellar by my fellow diners.
Atmosphere was also perfect: updated ‘50s diner. Clean, bright, comfortable, with counter stools as you walk in and what appear to be either original mid-century tables or very nice reproductions. Paper placemats changed from day to day and included fun facts about the area.
Overall, I’m hoping next year’s concert schedule has at least one show we want to see just to get more of...

Tucked into the heart of the Village of Lewiston, Syros is a no-frills, all-heart kind of place. The kind of restaurant where the coffee’s always hot and your cup is never left half full. Service is attentive without being overbearing—warm, genuine, and consistent every time I visit.
The menu is remarkably generous, spanning Greek comfort classics, American diner staples, hearty breakfasts, and satisfying lunch and dinner fare. Whether you’re craving spanakopita or a simple eggs-and-toast start to your morning, there’s something for just about every mood and appetite.
Breakfast is served with care. The eggs are done right, the corned beef hash has that perfect crisp-on-the-outside, tender-inside balance, and the toast is golden. One minor quibble: the breakfast potatoes. I’ve given them a few shots, and while the portion is solid, the seasoning just isn’t there. I’d love to see a crispy hash brown option or even a seasoned home fry remix.
Beyond that? Syros delivers. Great value, great service, and a laid-back vibe that feels like a Saturday morning with grandpa—even if it’s...
