It’s hard to find dog parks in the WNY area that are fenced. Sometimes the grass is a little long but it’s been unusually rainy (spring/summer 2019) so maybe that has something to do with it. There isn’t any shade but the times we’ve come it’s been breezy or downright windy so we haven’t had any problems with it being too hot-still you may need sunscreen on a sunny day. One water pump seems to work on the large dog side, but the one oon the small dog side is broken. We bring our own water jug and bowl just to be on the safe side. The large dog side is usually more muddy, specifically upon entering and along the fence. It’s best to wait for a day of sun if you’re trying to avoid it. If it’s been raining for a couple days you’re sure to find puddles though. Still I like it better than the paw park in Amherst, less areas for mud. I think there’s less chance of being bitten by bugs here in the evening as well, paw park seemed to have a lot of flies and that around 6-8 pm, haven’t been there in the day yet. (Using as a comparison since it’s also fenced). You can see in the pictures the entrance and side with mud and water is the large dog side.

I've been enjoying this wonderful dog park for a couple of weeks now, and I haven't had any negative experiences. They always provide waste bags and fresh water for the dogs, as well as plenty of balls and toys. The other visitors have all been very pleasant, which makes it even better.

Very clean, poo bags are provided if you forgot your own. It can be a bit windy since it's out in the open on top of a hill. There are two areas, one for dogs under 30lbs and one for dogs over 30lbs. There's also a faucet and bowls for dogs to drink from. Overall, a fun place!

The Lewiston Dog Park is well-maintained and conveniently located just inside the entrance to Artpark. It’s completely fenced in, with separate areas for large and small dogs, which is always a plus. One thing I appreciate is that the poop bag dispensers are always stocked, and most dog owners are responsible about cleaning up after their pups, keeping the park tidy. Water stations are active (but I think they turn them off during the winter months).

Having relocated here from Memphis, Tennessee, where my dogs had 100 acres of off-leash space at Shelby Farms Park to run, play, and swim (yes, three large ponds!), this park does feel a bit underwhelming in comparison. To put it in perspective, Shelby Farms’ dog park alone would be 1/6th the size of the entire Village of Lewiston.

That said, the Lewiston Dog Park has its charm. The people who frequent the park are warm, friendly, and genuinely good dog parents, which makes for a positive experience. While it may not have the vast open spaces I’m used to, it’s decent, and the dogs enjoy it, especially when there are other dogs around to socialize with. If you’re local, it’s a good spot to let your dog stretch their legs and meet some...

Tried to bring our dogs here while on vacation in the area. On a mid Saturday afternoon it was packed with hundreds of people there for flag football. The dog park was overrun with small children - not dogs, just kids. One was even digging a hole with a legit shovel - no idea where his parents were. Or where he got the shovel. Sad that we couldn't use the facility because so many parents were letting their kids run free in the dog park. My dogs can't use the playground. Stay out of their...
