Been dying to try this place, since it's very well known for the area. It's on the first floor of a beautiful historic building and the ambiance of the seating/bar area is nice, dark and cozy. The server was very nice, but also very slow. The food itself was good - cooked well, good portions. Different pricing than the online menu, so they haven't updated their pricing online, be aware. Everything was $3-4 more than what was listed online. Overall, it was ok but more average than I expected, considering how the locals rave about it. The place was empty, there were only 3 tables including us, so it definitely should not have taken us one hour and 30 min to eat a burger and pizza. We were pretty frustrated with the service, and the food was not good enough to excuse this, so I'm glad I finally checked it out but will probably not be coming back.

Friendly small town place with decent food. The fresh mussels in white sauce, steamed little neck clams, clams Casino, French fries with gravy & cheese (Poutine), and the gumbo were good! However, I would not order the pizza, wings, mozzarella sticks, nor French onion soup again as they were subpar. The kids loved the chocolate cake dessert. Side note to the bar, how do you mixup a Guinness for an IPA? I had to order a bottled IPA because the waitress insisted the Guiness was an IPA because it was labeled an IPA on draft. Worth a second shot? Yes, will do so (and probably without the kids). 😉

A fixture in downtown Wurtsboro, this place has survived time's test. Food very good, and the dessert of cheesecake was delicious. Bathroom clean and there is ample paved parking in front. On site is an automatic teller machine, a web-based juke box, and numerous plasmas displaying sports and other programming. Friendly waitstaff. There is a small "service fee" for dining at a table. On the wall next to the table are inoperable doorbells which used to summon the waitstaff to the corresponding tables.

On August 2, 2021 I sent the following message to Danny’s Village Inn Facebook messenger. I never received a response or acknowledgement (today is Sept. 3), so now I will take it public. It pains me to do this, as we were good customers of Danny’s for many years: We are regular customers at Danny’s. We have always felt safe at Danny’s during the pandemic (and we supported you throughout the pandemic), but that changed last night. My husband and I are vaccinated; the sign on your door says that masks are required only if you are not vaccinated. We noticed that not one of your staff was wearing a mask, so we assumed that the entire staff is vaccinated. You know what they say about “assume” ……During our dinner, we had a conversation with one of your unmasked servers, who volunteered to us that she is not vaccinated and why she is not vaccinated. I didn’t want to create a scene, so I let it go. Why wasn’t she wearing a mask? Why is Danny’s requiring customers who aren’t vaccinated to wear a mask, but not requiring the unvaccinated staff to wear a mask? Why the double standard? I know help is hard to get, but you are putting not only your customers at risk, but the rest of your staff at risk as well. Knowing what I know now, I no longer feel safe at Danny’s, and we will not return until this entire situation improves.

Here is is June 19, 2025, almost 4 years later; I'll add to this review since I can't seem to post a separate one. This was my experience tonight: Tonight we planned to eat at Danny’s. It was a beautiful evening, so we brought our well-behaved, 15-pound dog, expecting to sit outside on the porch like we’ve done many times in summers past. My husband waited outside with the dog while I went in. I stood at the sign that said, “Please wait to be seated.” The restaurant was nearly empty—just one table occupied and a few people at the bar—but no one came to help. I eventually had to walk to the far end of the bar, where the only two employees were chatting. I interrupted their social to ask if we could sit outside with our dog. The waitress replied, “The tables haven’t been cleaned off.” I asked if one could be cleaned for us, and she repeated, “The tables haven’t been cleaned.” When I asked if there was outdoor service at all, she again repeated the same line. It became clear: the outdoor area hadn’t been set up for the season, and there was no intention of doing so tonight. The porch reflected that—tables were dirty, some without chairs, others with folded chairs leaned against the building. No plants, no flowers on tables—none of the usual welcoming touches. Still, we would’ve been happy with just one clean table. If Danny’s doesn’t plan to serve outdoors, they should just put the furniture away. Don’t create the illusion that it’s an option. C’mon, Vinny—you can do better. We walked down to Las Mañanitas, where the porch was clean, welcoming, and lively. We enjoyed a great dinner with...

Tucked away in the charming town of Wurtsboro, Danny's is one of those delightful local gems that beautifully encapsulates the essence of classic American dining, while also echoing the warmth and friendliness that small-town eateries are renowned for.

Stepping into Danny's feels like a delightful journey back in time. The retro ambiance, complete with nostalgic décor and memorabilia, offers a comforting sense of familiarity, making it an instant hit not just among the older generation but also younger folks looking to relive yesteryears.

One of the standout features of Danny's is undoubtedly its menu. It boasts a comprehensive array of American favorites – from juicy burgers and crisp fries to hearty breakfasts and sumptuous desserts. Each dish is meticulously prepared, and you can taste the dedication and passion with every bite. The portions are generous, ensuring you leave with a satisfied heart and a full belly.

The staff here deserves special mention. Their attentive nature, combined with genuine smiles and an eagerness to ensure each patron's comfort, enhances the overall dining experience. They're knowledgeable about the menu, often providing recommendations that hit the mark every time.

Danny's location at Kingston Ave makes it conveniently accessible for both locals and travelers passing through Wurtsboro. The ample parking space is another added advantage, making it hassle-free for families and large groups.

If there's a slight area for improvement, it would perhaps be to periodically update the specials, offering patrons a taste of something new and exciting alongside their classic favorites. But this is a minor aspect given the overall excellence of the place.

In summary, Danny's is a testament to the timeless appeal of traditional American diners. It offers a harmonious blend of delicious food, a cozy ambiance, and impeccable service. Whether you're a local or just passing through Wurtsboro, make it a point to stop by Danny's for a meal that will warm your soul and tantalize your taste buds. Highly...

We stopped in last night on the way to our campsite. We’ve heard good things about Danny’s. First, we loved the hometown, old school feel of the restaurant. We could tell that there were many regulars there and that made us feel at home. A lovely young lady acknowledged us to begin with and while she was looking to get us a table another lady took over. She seated us yet forgot our menus. She took our drink order. Then a few minutes later a young man tried to take our drink order. Must be the tables aren’t assigned. When the lady finally came back with our drinks my bourbon sour was horrible. Straight lemon juice and bourbon. Tasted no sweet in the mix at all. Also, she never brought or asked about water or any other drinks to us get during our visit. Even when our glasses were empty. I added sugar packets to my drink and dealt with it. I ordered a starter special for my dinner. It was very good. I actually can’t wait for my left overs today. My husband ordered the fish and chips. It was so overcooked. Our server never once checked back with us at all. We sat and waited so that we could tell her but it never happened. My husband suffered through this fish because he was hungry and couldn’t wait any longer. We saw the server tending to the table next to us a few times. They looked like regulars. The next time we saw her she just came over and gave us the check with (that we waited a long time for now that we had long been finished). No personality and still never asked how our meal was. Seemed a bit annoyed that I wanted a to-go box. Overall, we’re disappointed. We were looking forward to Danny’s being a place we could regularly go to on our way back and forth to our camper where we are seasonal campers. I’m sorry for this review but I just had to...
