Las Mañanitas Mexican — Restaurant in Town of Mamakating

Food was plentiful, appetizers were very filling, had enough to takes home 2 meals. We ordered a platter for2 steak, pork, chicken, Mexican sausage, & corn tortillas filled with guacamole & the other w/ salsa, professional & polite staff, timely, spotless clean, low volume mexican music, reminded of restaurants in Mexico that I went to 50 years ago. Salad dressing was vinegar & olive oil, good plus big pieces of red & green bell peppers & radishes & red onion & tomato 🍅. Meats were not dry refried beans,the rice could have been a little more moist, it was good when mixed with the beans the pork was the ends including the crackling part, tasty. The pina colada was more like a margarita. I dislike refried beans but theirs were good & creamery. Food was not greasy.GREAT place to catch up with friends you haven't seen in a long time. Continued Excellence. I live a block away a dine there almost weekly. From the time they opened and now, always fresh and well prepared at a good price. And they offer a tasty free thing at the beginning and a tastier free thing at the end. And sometimes a free shot. I don't think it's just me lol. Owned and run by a delightful family, with dad in the kitchen and mom out front. Two large happy dining spaces with comfortable chairs and tables well spaced apart. Very pleasent when i have the place to myself, and I wish I had a part to throw because I would do it here. My only negative remark is the tacos are unremarkable, just regular, won't order again. It was very quiet for a lunch but we were greeted by a smiling waitress who brought us yummy complimentary chips and salsa. She took our drink orders and returned with complimentary quesadillas! Took our food orders returned with our beautifully prepared good. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. I thought the refried beans were delicious. I had beef enchiladas in a red sauce that came with the beans and topped with lots of gooey cheese on a small bed of lettuce. My husband opted for chicken enchiladas. Also delicious!
