My family is very frequent patrons at this location. Service and quality has been going downhill for months and after two lousy visits this week, we’re done. We will spend our hard-earned money elsewhere.
Since the renovation there have been a slew of absolutely terrible servers (wrong/completely forgotten food, lousy attitudes, being sat at dirty tables still with the last diners’ dishes on them, slow service while they’re clearly scrolling on their phones in the service aisle, etc). but hiring decent people is difficult so we tried let it go and hope the lousy ones quit.
First meal this week, ordered the taco salad, no sour cream. The young man serving came back to the table 3 times while entering the order because he couldn’t remember 1 kid meal and 1 entree with a simple mod and didn’t bother to carry a notepad. Entree arrives loaded with some white goo, with more on the side. A full 20 minutes go by, server does not check back, he is on his phone at the computer, so I have to flag two other servers to please go get him. He says the white stuff is ranch, although ranch does not come with this dish, and instead of taking the plate away to fix it, he gets the manager (tall blonde) who also argues with me that it’s ranch, not sour cream, so I must have gotten what I ordered. I hate ranch and had that been listed on the menu I wouldn’t have ordered it. Why is a manager who admits there’s ingredients not on the menu all over this food, arguing instead of fixing it when my child is clearly already done with her meal but I haven’t eaten a bite?
Three days later my children ask for Tully’s for dinner. I’m pretty turned off to it, but agree. Food and service is fine but not good. The expo seemed to be messing up the flow and sides never made it to the table. I ate 3 bites of my meal and pack it to go. We go to leave, less than one minute away from the table I realize the fully loaded to-go box is on the table and go back for it. Well, the table was cleared and the hostess shrugs, doesn’t bother to check with the busser that a fully loaded to go box was perhaps set aside, tells me “oh well”. So my half order of wings, a full entree, and a kids entree all went in the trash. $87 completely wasted. We...
Read moreAlthough this Tully's Restaurant opened in Fayetteville in the abandoned Uno's building over a year ago, this was the first chance I've had to eat here. It's just as good as the Fairmount Tully's which I've written about previously in glowing terms. I decided to try something new. I ordered the fried shrimp platter. It included eight large tasty shrimp with a crunchy coating and plenty of cocktail sauce for dipping. The plate also included crispy french fries, and a nice side of coleslaw which cooled the heat from the cocktail sauce after finishing the shrimp. The service was great, but I did notice that the music was played at a higher volume than you would normally expect in a restaurant. I guess whether that's a plus or a minus depends on how much you like the music selection. UPDATE-1: Returned for lunch on a Wednesday and was seated in a booth in the bar area. I ordered something from their special $12-lunch menu (2024). I chose the soup and a small tuna fish salad sandwich with lettuce and tomato. For a $1 upcharge, I got chili in place of the soup. The chili was good, although my preference would have been for a bit more spicy heat. The melted cheddar topping was a nice addition. The sandwich, however, was a disappointment. The tuna fish salad needed more mayo and seasoning as it came across as watery and flavorless. Their wait staff was a bit limited even with less than half of the tables occupied, but my server did an excellent job. UPDATE-2: Ordered a lunch special with Asian chicken tenders and fries for $13 (2025). The fries were good but the chicken was a disappointment. The coating fell off the chicken easily and was not crisp. This is in contrast to excellent chicken tenders I've had at Tully's in Fairmount and Coppertop in Camillus. I'm reducing my rating from five stars...
Read moreWe have been wanting to try this place for years and finally everything aligned. We were pleasantly surprised about how great the atmosphere was as well as all of those that greeted us on the way to our table. Our server, Austin, was amazing! Super helpful, knowledgeable, humorous in the best of ways and extremely attentive to us. The food was promptly served after ordering. But then it took a bit of a sad turn. Unfortunately my shrimp bowl was extremely sour. Not anything in particular but actually all of it together, making it unenjoyable and forcing me to send it back. My husband ordered the Cajun chicken and while he said the batter was delicious and the chicken was good, he couldn’t get past the second bite after discovering the rotten lettuce. Not brown or wilted but actually rotten. After his decision to skip out on a substitution, because our son was done and ready to go, I ordered the Asian tenders to go. The manager was the only one in the place that had a sour face and attitude (maybe she ate the shrimp bowl) and wasn’t happy about our complaint. Leaving us to pay for everything but the Cajun sandwich. Not that we were looking for anything but most places at least take a percentage for the inconvenience. She had also tried to argue that it couldn’t possibly taste bad as it was all freshly made. I have personally bought and prepared fresh ingredients before that didn’t taste so fresh so it happens. Anyway, I think we will try it again, however, hopefully if we do run into an issue the manager is more pleasant like the rest of the staff. All in all, I’ve...
