Had a reservation for 8pm on a Friday - restaurant was full and lively upon arrival. We chose to sit @ the window seats which had a great view of the whole restaurant. Recommend the New Kingston Negroni - their twist on a mezcal Negroni. Food was hot and fresh - menu items were interesting / catered to a very specific pallet- would like to come back and try another seasonal menu rotation. House pickles certainly were not as expected - tomatoes and beets. Wedge salad had a lot of dressing, chicken was very hot and delicious Romano beans to accompany. Recommend this place if nearby - can envision the space very cozy on a winter night.

Rae’s in Margaretville is an absolute gem! The design is gorgeous—warm, cozy, and effortlessly cool with a vibe that makes you want to stay all day. The food? Fabulous. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love. Honestly, what makes it even more of a blessing is their hours—when everything else in town is closed, Rae’s is open and welcoming. It’s exactly what this town needed.

Rae’s is the union of creativity and comfort. The chef (Bailey) serves consistently excellent food that’s playful without being goofy. The maîtresse d’hôtel (Rosenberg) radiates warmth and welcome, keeps the music (playlist curated by L’Rain) reasonable and slings great drinks in homage to her ancestors. Add dog-friendliness and a beautiful space and you’ve got the perfect restaurant.

What a gem! I went twice to make my way through as much of the current menu as possible and everything was delicious and a perfect nod to what was good/in season. Plates are generous, and made to be comforting and inventive in equal measure. The cocktails are designed to match, with an NA option that was so good. The service was friendly and attentive.

The warm vibes make it great for hanging out with friends or popping in for a date. I can’t wait to come back and see how the menu evolves as the market changes...
