Just visited tonight for the first time and wow.. I am blown away. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that felt genuinely special and felt like at home. We were served by the owner—and his wife was there who was also lovely.
We started with the shishito peppers, pork gyoza, and Japanese chicken karaage, each dish fresh, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The real star of the night, though, was the pork miso ramen—rich, comforting, and absolutely to die for. Our drinks, the plum spritz and lychee martini, were the perfect complement to the meal—refreshing and delicious .
What made this experience even more special was the personal touch. The owner’s wife noticed me struggling with chopsticks and kindly came over to teach me how to use them—such a small gesture, but one that made a lasting impression. They also engaged in conversation throughout the night and geniunely wanted to make sure everything was up to par. It’s rare to find a place where the food, service, and atmosphere all come together so perfectly, but they nailed it.
After being disappointed by so many restaurants in the area, I had almost given up hope on restaurants—but Zeppin completely changed that. If you’re looking for a place with incredible food, heartfelt hospitality, and an unforgettable dining experience, do yourself a favor and visit Zeppin. And also to add — the prices are very reasonable. This place is an...
Read moreHad a pretty awful dinning experience here. Came in on a Saturday night and it was fairly empty besides the party seated near us. I want to state there is no regular menus just ipads that have their website loaded. If the tablet screen goes black well good luck because you don't have the password to view the menu. We started off with the Takoyaki which honestly was pretty good and fairly priced. We also ordered the Katsu Curry which is listed as $9 on their menu but then they tried to upcharge us another $5 for 2 tiny pieces of chicken. So they are indeed charging $9 for rice and curry okay? The way its listed on the menu is incredibly misleading it it would be way simpler to understand if it just said $15 instead of this nonsense. I ordered ramen and I was honestly disgusted by my bowl. The broth looked like sewer water the scum had clearly not been cleaned and broth was incredibly cloudy. It tasted like chicken noodle soup not ramen. The noodels where not cooked correctly at all. The noodels where pretty stiff and hard I don't think many folks like a crunchy noodle for their ramen. I told them about this and was asked where I normally get my ramen like I have no idea what I'm talking about. This was straight up awful. When the ramen shop doesn't have a shio or shyuo on the menu big red flag. If you want chicken noodle soup that looks like ramen well this is your spot. If you want something real I'd quickly...
Read moreThey make their noodles in-house, need I say more! Zeppen Ramon in Thornwood is the new kid on the block—and it's already playing like a seasoned pro. First off, parking is a dream. Pull right in, no stress. You’ll think it’s a tiny spot at first glance, but step inside and bam—it opens up into a deceptively big, warm, welcoming space. The vibe hits that rare sweet spot: totally family friendly, but also full of cozy corners perfect for date night. It feels like a place you’ve been going to for years, even on your first visit. Now, the food. Those noodles? Made in-house!. You can taste the difference in every bite—springy, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. The black garlic oil ramen is deep, earthy, and unforgettable. And the chicken ramen? The chicken is so tender it almost doesn't make sense. How do they do it? But ramen is just the beginning. The sushi lineup is strong—this isn’t an afterthought. Think bluefin toro that melts on contact. The yellowtail salad is fresh, citrusy, and bright, and the summer roll is a clean, crunchy bite that resets your palate perfectly. Also—don’t skip the wings. Crispy and craveable. Perfect with one of their great cocktails or a chilled sake. What’s good here? Ramen broth that hugs your soul, sushi that rivals spots in the city, and a menu that makes it impossible to order just one thing. But those house made noodles - that's what's...
