I went to this bagel shop on my way home from work. It is located in Thornwood, NY. I ordered four sandwich rolls and one of the employees goes to fulfill my order. I see the four sandwich rolls and I seen another employee located at the cash register say "No, we don't give those out". I walk up to the register and state that I ordered the four sandwich rolls. I was immediately told "I'm sorry it's Saturday and we don't give those out". She continues by saying "I only ordered a certain amount and the rest is reserved for other people like friends and family". I accept her excuse for not selling me rolls. I promptly decided to order four plain bagels and an orange juice. I didn't feel comfortable in the area as I was getting awkward glances from employees, consumers and the patrolling mount pleasant police officers in their vehicles. I was the only black male that I can see in the area, not to mention I was in my full uniform as earlier stated I was on my way home from work. I quickly finished my transaction in order to complete my journey home. I did not like my experience and will not be spending my money here anymore. I felt uncomfortable due to the tension I felt and the excuse for not being able to sell sandwich rolls didn't sit with well me at all. If I ordered four bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches, would I not receive them on a roll? If rolls were truly limited would there not be a sign to indicate as such? I only gave it two stars because I was able to complete my transaction without incident and secondly the bagels were soft and...
Read moreThe service was good. Line was a little long but they had multiple people working so I didn't mind. The breakfast sandwich I got was delicious as well. They do use real eggs and not those microwave patties. If that was all I ordered it would be a great review but I made the mistake of getting a cappuccino. I saw they had espresso, latte, etc and there were some nice looking machines so I thought it'd be fine. Unfortunately I only noticed after I ordered that there was an instant push button "cappuccino" machine wedged in between the big ones and that's what I got. It's the sweetest, thickest, most disgusting thing I've ever drank. This is not even close to cappuccino and they should really warn people before taking their money or just call it something else. I can't even drink it. So disappointed that I did not get what I ordered and I had to take off quite a few stars since it was about 1/3 of...
Read moreToday, I was highly disappointed in my breakfast sandwich. I have never tasted anything so nasty ever. The sandwich tasted like someone had thrown it on the floor and stepped on it before wrapping it in foil, and my eggs were sprinkled with a little egg shells. After taking the sandwich apart to figure out what was making it taste like dirt, I discovered it was the turkey bacon. Ughhh!! $8 sandwich in the garbage. By the way, this is the third time something like this has happened. The service is always a hit or miss for me as a black woman in this town. I always feel unwelcome; half the time, they're all looking at one another, wondering who's going to take her order. Then, finally, someone walks over, looking like damn why me LOL. No matter how nice you are, the feeling is not reciprocated. I say good morning, crickets, I say thank you, have a great day, crickets. But hey, you win some,...
