The food was really good, and it is a nice place.
The service was borderline nonexistent. Inattentive is the wrong word; we felt ignored. There was a 30 minute wait to be served our drinks after ordering them, during which time we had to beg to get water refills. Our entrees did then come out promptly. But once the food was served, the bizarrely inattentive service immediately reasserted itself. After our plates were cleared, it took almost 50 minutes for our server to ask if we wanted dessert. Nobody ever asked if we wanted another round of drinks. We did, and we also wanted dessert, but not after waiting 50 minutes for someone to ask if we wanted any.
When we said no to dessert and instead requested the check, it took another 30 minutes to get someone to take our card to pay (and it was not our server; she simply never came by again after we requested the check).
All told, we were seated for almost 2.5 hours, and had only 1 round of drinks and entrees, despite actively wanting to order more drinks and some dessert the entire time. I point out that we would have spent at least $70 more if our server had bothered to ask if we wanted more drinks or taken less than almost an hour to inquire about dessert.
Again, the food was delicious. We might even go again. But they definitely either need more staff or better staff. It was...
Read moreValentine's Day Dinner that was anything but romantic. There were several times that I wanted to walk out because that's how awful our service was. The restaurant was clearly overwhelmed and the staff seemed to be in a state of chaos for nothing, because I didn't see a lot of food coming out of the kitchen. Now I get that restaurants are going to be extra busy on holidays, but that's not an excuse to essentially neglect your guests. Not a single soul came up to us to apologize about the speed in which dishes were coming out, their lack of attentiveness, etc. The paella (which wasn't really that flavorful sadly at $40pp) took over 90 minutes to come out. No one came to check on us or ask if we wanted another drink, which we would've liked because we did enjoy the sangria. We received the wrong order for one of our tapas, and when I finally got a waiter's attention again no apologies or offers to correct it. And they didn't take what we actually ordered off the bill. Everything was way overpriced and not worth it. The icing on the cake was that they conveniently just changed their menu so what was on their website didn't match what we were presented with on the menu. Honestly if you want tapas, save yourself the stress and go to Barcelona in...
Read moreThis is a great new tapas restaurant in New Castle. I went there with a big group of my family to celebrate a holiday for brunch & couldn't have had a better experience đ. The food was great- we had brunch together so out of the many dishes the table ordered the mushrooms, potatoes, short ribs, paella & ommlet were my favorites as they were all fantastic, as was the creme brulee-like dessert. The owner circulated just the right amount of time to ensure we were happy, that my infant son was being taken care of/was happy in his supplied high chair, that the food was good, to take some pictures on our behalf & make his own food recommendations, but he didn't hover or impose in the least. I'm usually not an easy critic regarding eateries because I usually find some complaint or criticism to lodge, but the bar had the drinks I wanted plus a small but serious cocktail menu, the food as well as service were both great & the upscale yet causal atmosphere was perfect for a family Sunday brunch, however I'm sure it's geared to a more mature crowd in the evenings. The decor & environment give you the feeling that it's a serious restaurant for dinner, but the brunch we are there was fantastic in every sense so I'll be trying dinner there...
