Nicky Doodles — Restaurant in Town of New Hartford

WARNING: In June of 2022, I ate at Nicky Doodles located in New Hartford, NY.

The workers handle the money, food containers, cook and serve the food with NO gloves being worn! There are 2 young women and the manager, a male, whom work here and all follow the same procedures as mentioned above. This is very SCARY!

The food containers are kept at the register and the workers use a marker INSIDE of the containers to identify the item ordered and then pass it onto the person cooking the food; no one is washing their hands and creating cross contamination in A HUGE way!!!

With no wax paper liners being used, all food is then placed into these containers and that have been cross ontaminated; after eating a meal, at 1 pm, I was VIOLENTLY sick with fecal contaminated food poisoning by 6 am the following morning. I'm a healthy, younger adult and could not keep even clear liquids down for more than 30 hours; I was on the verge of being hospitalized for severe dehydration.

This is VERY scary, because if I wasn't a healthy adult OR was a more susceptible juvenile or elderly person, it could have very well ended in serious health complications, including death.

I've had food poisoning once before, in my life, and stomach cramping was the typical symptoms. This time, I felt intense and constant stabbing abdominal pain, body aches, chills, muscle cramping, complete fatigue and overall pain in every part of my body except my nose and throat.

The Health Department was contacted, especially after the General Manager was not able to produce a current Heath Inspection Certificate.

UPDATE (6/26/2022):

Dear Owner, This is in response to the reply you posted and below... I had ate chicken tenders, onion rings and ice cream at your establishment and on the date I last dined in. I do know I ate nothing before or after on this day and with deductive reasoning, YES I did become extremely ill and after eating this meal at your establishment.

At the very least and since I paid with a credit card, I would appreciate a full refund of this $20.00 meal; as your business record will show, I have patronized your business at least 10 times and during the 2022 season opening. I really did love eating here, but after becoming violently sick and being an extremely healthy adult, with not having been sick with even a virus in 10 years, I unfortunately will no longer choose to.

I am sure the ice cream would be safe, as I ate it solo many times and had no ill feelings, afterward.

Other and similar seasonal establishments, that have been in business for 60+ years, do use: 1.) Food Safety Gloves, 2.) Hairnets, 3.) Food service containers that are BOTH stored next to where the food is prepared and handled, by the gloved employees ONLY preparing the food., 4.) Counter employees are ONLY taking orders, handling payments and serving drinks; they are NOT handling the food containers (inside particularly) with their ungloved or non-sterile...

Last summer, The owner accused me of ordering wrong because I was on my phone. The cashier got my order right, philly steak sandwich with hot peppers, I paid, then called me back over to the register to give me a different total. I asked her, are you sure? She said, yeah. When i got my food, it was wrong. I went back to the register and told them they got my order wrong and the owner told me it was my fault because i was on my phone. I told him his employee was right and charged me for a philly and he made her change it amd charge me for a "hot" sausage sandwich. I asked for my money back and he said no, he would give me the amount difference because I ate half the sandwich, which was a lie. I looked at it, new it was wrong and took one bite to be 100% sure it was wrong. The owner is a nasty man with a chip on his shoulder. I'll never give him my money after how he treated his employee and paying customer.

Well took 2 hrs of standing in 2 lines along the parking lot to get soft serve ice cream only to see that it melts in your hands while you wait for the rest of your order instantly !!!.... Ice cream is water based not cream based good for their income but takes away from the flavor... Very pricey too ....if i wanted boxed ice cream id get it at store :) Fridge is full of it :) we always get soft serve !!!! we go there as its one of the biggest nh ice cream place with enough parking... as its in the closed down mostly shopping center.... In my opinion its not half as good as bonomos 5 min down the road..... They busy too but quality of ice cream big diff....
