La Fonda Deli, Westbury. — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

I love La Fonda usually but this experience was terrible. I’m at work and I tried to call in breakfast for pickup. I ordered a baleada gringa with grilled onions. He understood that. But then when I asked for a small banana smoothie he didn’t understand me. He kept saying no smoothie I dont know. He said he doesn’t have that or have an idea what I’m talking about. He told me to call later because no one speaks English and he can’t take my order. It’s literally on their menu as banana smoothie (it’s like a milkshake) I’ve had it multiple times before at other locations. He hung up on me. How can you run a business out here and not even speak English at all to the point you can’t take a customers order? Not to mention I can’t order it on the website because it doesn’t include them. While I am order my food the server doesn't stop talking to her coworkers, gives me a crazy amounts of rice, basically filling my plate. Once im done ordering everything. She tries to close the plate, but can't due to the amount of rice she put and plantains, then complains to just continue talking to her coworkers. A coworker even tells her to finishes off my order. But she complains more. For one medium plate and a gallon of water was 24$,...

Every time we come to Long Island this our choice 8-10 times, my wife loves El Pollo con Tajadas “the best” you’ll lick your fingers over and over.

Also let not forget to mention they make “The best Pupusas” (locas, jalapeño, revueltas) with encurtido kicking it up a notch.

I almost forgot “El Agua de Horchata” DELICIOUS!!!!!
