Mama Soup — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

Came here to get lunch several times, and my mouth still waters whenever I think about this place. Out of all the places around Mineola that I've tried so far, this one is the best.

I always get the tomato soup and the hot chicken sandwich, I've never felt inclined to try the other items because I only crave these two things from Mama Soup. I've heard some people say that there are some items here which are bland and lacking in flavor, but I wouldn't know, because the two things I always get are always on point.

Tomato Soup: It's not the best tomato soup I've ever had (the honor goes to Cafe Gossip), but Mama Soup's tomato soup is served with little cubed of grilled cheese sandwich bites that make me so happy to eat. The soup itself is more bland in flavor, but still has the acid punch of the tomatoes, so I still enjoy it. Personally, if I were making it, I'd add some more cheese, spices, and heavy cream to make it more sumptuous. 4/5

Hot Chicken Sandwich: One of the best sandwiches I've had, with the perfect balance of peppers, sauce, meat, and veggies. The portion is great and I usually still have half a sandwich to eat for dinner after eating the other half with the soup. The kick is there and pleasant. They've nailed the composition of this sandwich, I wish I could eat it again soon! 5/5

The food is great, and there's plenty of seats if you'd like to dine in. However the wait for the food is rather long, about 15-20 minutes for an order, but I find it's worth the wait. Hope to stop by...

So I didn't want to do this but this has to stop and can't happen again before the whole virus thing started i use to go to this place at least 3 times a week for the honey chicken salad and a bagel I saw the cook in the back with his hands no gloves on putting butter on my bagel fast forward to today I went for the same thing the man use the gloves to take my money and use the same gloves to grab the bagel I didn't say a word to him however I told the young lady that was there what happened she asked if I needed something else I said no because I'm not a confrontational person i did tell her i will never...

Disappointed. I don't normally leave poor reviews, but I really believe this place needs one... The food I ordered tasted good, but unfortunately I found a small, thin hair inside one half of my wrap (I know it wasn't mine, which is long and dyed an unnatural color) 🤢 On top of that, the unsweetened iced tea I ordered had a strong, burnt-rubber flavor likely from being brewed improperly or in a dirty kettle, making it undrinkable and I had to throw it out.

For the price point here (as others have commented on), I expect better food safety and quality control so I don’t feel comfortable...
