Mim's Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

By far my favorite and the best restaurant and place to go for a fabulous meal and time out.

Drinks, food and staff don’t get any better. I have been coming to Mims for a very long time and am never disappointed. My best times and meals are here. Best cosmos, bread, hummus , salad, burata, lemon sole oreganata, fish , chicken, steak prepared any and all ways.. desserts that are to die for.. and the list goes on.

People go out to eat for a good meal. Which you will absolutely have:get at Mim's.. but one gets so much more here. The most incredible staff and people are all under one roof. No doubt all the servers are great, but Angela is my personal favorite. She’s Amazing..And then some!

Last but not least . A big shout out and Thank you to Jimmy. Mim’s is what is is because of him! Jimmy goes above and beyond to make sure Everyone is happy and all their needs and wants are met.. He is truly so rare, terrific snd special. How lucky Mims and all of us are to have him!!

Mims is still THE BEST! Still my favorite place to come to dine, drink, and have the BEST time, meal and drinks. Still the best staff ever... and still especially Jimmy and Angela. I love you both . When they made you they broke the mole. You truly are the best in every way!! Mims, every diner, I, and this world..are so lucky to have you in it! Tommy, Sean and Ivan.. And to everyone reading this review.. a very picky diner is telling you to come to Mims if you want the best of everything ...

My family and I went to this restaurant to celebrate Rosh Hashana. I have a dairy allergy so sometimes eating out can be difficult.

To begin the night I asked the server if the bread placed on the table had any butter or cheese in it because I am allergic- insisted that there was none even after clarifying twice. There was cheese in the bread. I called the waiter over and said to him that there was cheese in the bread and that the next time someone asks say that there is dairy. He apologized perfusely and we moved on.

Come time to order, there was limited selection as it was a holiday menu. Because of my allergies, I asked if I could replace mashed potatoes with something else I could eat. The waiter said that "they really don't like to do adjustments to the holiday menu." I said it's not like I just don't like mashed potatoes- I am allergic to them.

After going back and forth for a bit, he said he would ask the chef. He comes back about 10 minutes later and said that they would not put the mashed potatoes on the plate- but I would have to pay extra for a side of roasted potatoes. I said that was fine.

The food comes out and it is delicious! However, as I am eating the roasted potatoes, I notice that there is cheese on the bottom of the dish they were in. I call the waiter over and I am extremely frustrated at this point and say that he knew I was allergic and that this is the second time and I could've gotten really sick. He apologized again and said he would get me a different dish of potatoes. Extremely frustrated is an understatement- pay more attention to allergies in the future!

AND I STILL HAD TO PAY FOR THE POTATOES!

side note: on Jewish holidays you aren't supposed to mix dairy...

Conveniently located on Roslyn Road, less than a mile off the major parkways is Mim's, a charming, cozy restaurant offering the best in service and food. There is a good-sized bar with dining so you can watch the latest sporting event and several dining areas, including big comfy booths too. Mim's hosts themed dining nights as well as fun events like Psychic Nights and Murder Mystery Dinners. The event nights are usually priced-fixed with a set menu, offering you several quality choices in appetizers, main courses, and dessert. When we dine here on other nights we have also enjoyed their barbeque special as Southern cooking with Mac n Cheese and ribs, don't get any better according to our son, a big fan of everything bbq. I always enjoy their steaks, and on several lucky nights, their dinner special has been a delicious lamb selection. I always go for their Brussel Sprouts, and you won't be disappointed either especially if you like them roasted crispy. For dessert, they have a make your own smores, always a favorite family item or their cheesecake and pies are outstanding. Another comfort here is both a pleasant and accommodating staff as well as a great atmosphere. No matter the crowd Mim's draws and serves; the valet takes your car, the server promptly starts your drink order and kitchen turn around time is appropriately spaced between courses even on event nights. I have also picked up restaurant gift cards here for my friends, and they also have an excellent lunch menu too! While I am not psychic, I can predict a great meal and an enjoyable night awaits...
