Overpriced food you can get done bigger and better within .5mi around either corner (sangria, bairrada, margaritas, noches).
Vagrants hanging outside the restaurant every day drinking out of brown paper bags before you even walk into this glorified hallway truly accent the atmosphere.
Located in a hole in the wall of a decaying strip mall with two other Spanish restaurants on it, it’s the 3rd restaurant in this cramped location in the span of a year.
Rotating staff means no regulars besides the dubiously young manager whose energy is keeping this place alive. 7 seat bar means it gets crowded with a single group where patrons end up on top of each other competing for the choice of a whole 4 beers on tap.
Communication is clearly an issue with back/front house all over the place, with one of the owners/chef unable to communicate effectively without his translating manager. Everyone asking each other what to do behind the bar in fear that manager will butt in. Strange
Management is confused to the direction they want to take this restaurant/bar in and are stuck looking for a crowd. Over the course of training through a weekend 4-10pm the only groups of 5+ were family/friends of the staff who received preferential treatment while other people were in the establishment.
Overpriced drinks at $6-10 beers, $12 shots, ~15$ mixed drinks like we’re in Manhattan or something all trying way too hard to be authentic Spanish recipes. Drinks are just a mix of cheap syrup and well liquor praying you don’t notice through the days frozen garnish.
Servers bussing things through the kitchen to the bar, with no visible barback, ignoring the risk of cross-contamination. Hastily put together menu is littered with typos and feels incredibly unprofessional.
Manager takes advantage of “training” new rotating staff throughout every week with questionable business practices to avoid tipping/paying a complete minimum wage.
No tipping through training is apparently industry standard. Good for nothing restaurant besides a lesson in valuing your time. Makes employees pay for food unless it’s off the kids menu. Typical markup of 4-600% is astounding for an industry plagued...
Read moreCalled 5 minutes before we arrived and they held us a table for 2. Wonderful atmosphere to start. The waitress was very polite and courteous. The food was delicious. My only issue was some random other waitress came over to our table twice as we were still eating and asked us if we wanted to take it with us? Like we weren’t eating fast enough. It was like she was rushing us out. It made us a little uncomfortable.Right after we finished we asked for the check and again before I could even look at it she was back trying to take the check and payment and my husband had the bill in his hand and when she didn’t see the bill on table she started looking for it as did a another man. The place is nice the food is good. But the wait staff? We hurried and payed and left. The food is honesty very good, but we weren’t there long enough to be rushed out, lol. The food is worth another . Will update if and...
