There are now three Rodizios in the area. This was my first time at Bairrada because my dinner date wanted to try something new. NORMALLY we'd have gone to FOGO DE CHAO in Glen Cove or CHURRASQUERIA CARVALHOS in Bellmore.
Bairrada is a small restaurant than Carvalhos or Fogo and with social distancing in effect, it's effectively smaller than normal. There were about 15 tables spaced out appropriately. There is a parking lot in the back, as well as street and residential parking.
Bairrada's cost is $47 which places it BETWEEN the least expensive: Carvalhos ($30 for the Rodizio) and the most expensive Fogo ($60 for the Rodizio). There is no in between unless you order ala carte. The thing that annoys me most about these restaurants is they refuse to offer a 2 for $100 dinner date meal. Believe me, it has nothing to do with the money...the bill was $160 after we added desert and coffee and we easily afford it. My problem is the psychology of not being able to simply order a "meal for 2" or "meal for 3" when the amount of sides brought out is pretty much the same regardless how many people sit at the table. FOGO de CHAO has a great salad bar option, for example, which recently started offering some meat which means you could theoretically have a super healthy dinner for just $20 as an option to filling up on meat.
Bairrada's Food was EXCELLENT. Nothing really "new" compared to the other rodizios: beef, pork, chicken, steak, bacon wrapped pork, etc. My mother complained of saltiness at FOGO but I doubt she'd complain here. I rank Bairrada's food at about equal to Carvalhos. They even have the same milk bread plantains, that taste so perfect I could eat plantains no other way.
Their Desert case allows you to see all their options. Very beautiful and tasty desert creations. We went for a slice of Tres Leches and Chocolate Ice Cream (My date insists Uncle Guiseppe's Tres Leches was the best of all, but she enjoyed this - as did I - and I'm not a fan of Tres Leches).
My only issue with the restaurant was due to its size. They do have a bar, but it's a small area with a few couches. Fogo is large enough to have a "lounge" with couches, dinner tables and plenty of space. The restaurant is a bit on the small side which means it gets crowded quickly on key dates.
Overall, I give the restaurant 4/5. I give Fogo and Carvalhos the same 4/5. If they want to know what they need to do to get a 5 from me:
#1 Make a "meal for 2" price and #2 include a small desert with the meal.
I don't think those ideas are...
Read moreI CANNOT believe the AUDACITY of this place and its employees! My order took 2 HOURS AND 35 MINUTES!!!! apperantly phone orders don't mean anything in this place. AN UNPROFESSIONAL blond woman took my name 3 times when I arrived for my order which was worthless because she wasnt even keeping track of any orders. I asked her multiple times about the ETA, and she always replied with an "I don't know" and would walk away. An older hispanic woman was also EXTREMELY RUDE, A client asked her about the free hot sauce and bread (was always given with orders), the woman told him that nothing is ever free and if he did not like that, then he should go somewhere else!! I also complained to her about my order, I kept mentioning how long ago I had order so that she can put it through quickly, and she stated that the food cooks slow and it's the kitchen's fault. Regardless, out of all the people that was waiting from the time we got there, we were the last to get our food. I worked in the restaurant business for many years so for someone to give me BS reasons as to why they DID NOT HAVE an EFFICIENT SYSTEM to make things run smoothly, blaming the kitchen staff which what I could see were doing an efficient job is wrong! The wrong doing was at the front house where they did not even have the phone orders in hand! The restaurant was total chaos! The hispanic woman was extremely rude to all the clients while the blond woman was doing nothing but look at her clipboard. How can someone run a business like this?!?! Why wasnt there a system in place?! If it's a holiday, plan it out and come up with ways to keep things running efficiently and smoothly! 2 HOURS AND 35 MINUTES FOR AN ORDER IS RIDICULOUS AND ONLY MAKES THE RESTAURANT AND EMPLOYEES LOOK UNCARING AND UNPROFESSIONAL! Also, HIRE PEOPLE THAT KNOW HOW TO PROVIDE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE INSTEAD OF UNPROFESSIONAL RUDE PEOPLE!! We used to order from here all the time,...
Read moreWe were headed for a diner, and I told my friend that I wanted a Skirt Steak served on Garlic Bread. Several months ago, I saw a TikTok about Bairada and told my friend to go there. (I live in Brooklyn) He went and went back several times. He said, 'Let's skip the diner and go to Bairada.' Parking is simple. The place is beautiful and simple. The tables are set with white linen. The plates have the restaurant name on them. Very elegant. The atmosphere is mildly noisy. During the day there is plenty of natural light. So Inviting. I am handicapped so I need chairs that slide easily. They did. They had all sorts of steak, Chicken and Fish. We had the lunch menu. Prices were very reasonable.
Now the food: I had the skirt steak. It was done to perfection and tasted amazing. They offered the home-brewed hot sauce. It lifted the flavors to a new level. The vegetables were so tasty being sauteed in butter and garlic. The potatoes and rice were also very tasty. Before the main course arrived, they brought out a salad that was perfectly dressed. My friend had fish with a shrimp sauce. He really enjoyed his plate as well. The meal was hard to believe good. Dessert was on the same level. All the portions were large.
The wait staff was so friendly and helpful. We felt completely relaxed from the time we arrived to the time we left. Our Waiter did a great job helping us navigate the menu. They were very attentive to our needs. Five Stars to the professional Wait Staff
Also, the bathrooms were very clean and handicap accessible.
This was one of the best experiences I have had in a long time. There are other places that are right up there, but this place is hard to beat on so many levels. Thanks for such...
