Sakura Sushi — Restaurant in Town of Orangetown

So happy they’ve joined Pearl River! I’ve tried just about every sushi spot in Rockland County… Sakura without a doubt is now one of my favorites! Went first time yesterday. What an excellent experience! To start , the service is fantastic. Everyone was very friendly and attentive, not one of those places were you’re either constantly being asked if you need anything or no one comes by at all. Great balance.

We ordered a little bit of everything on the menu and very glad we did. EVERY bite was a delight! Lovely presentation too.

The owner was pleasant and friendly. Very much appreciated the fact that she personally went to every table to see how customers were doing. At the moment they’re BYOB, which we didn’t mind at all. Husband stepped out to buy a bottle of wine. They immediately brought over wine glasses and offered to uncork our bottle without us even asking. As I mentioned, excellent service.

I recently visited Sakura Sushi and had a great experience. The first thing I noticed was how clean and well-kept the restaurant is. Everything looked neat and organized, and it felt comfortable to sit and enjoy a meal there.

The sushi was super fresh—probably some of the freshest I’ve had in the area. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, and each roll was made with care. The flavors were simple but really well-balanced, and the presentation was clean and sharp.

What really stood out, though, was the owner. She was very friendly and welcoming, taking the time to check on customers and make sure everyone was happy. You don’t always get that kind of personal attention, and it made the experience even better.

We were regular customers of the previous Japanese restaurant at this location, so we were initially cautious about how Sakura Sushi would compare. From our first visit, we were pleasantly surprised. The fish is exceptionally fresh, the portions are generous, and the quality is outstanding. We ordered our usual amount from the all-you-can-eat menu and found ourselves with even more than expected—thankfully, every dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious.
