If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would. Upon entering the restaurant I was sure I was in for a treat. My friend and I were excited to see what the restaurant had in store for us. We ordered our food to go and got teas while we waited which took about 30 minutes to happen since we weren't approached as soon as we had a seat. After waiting almost 2 hours (looked at my clock to confirm) we decided we would be better off eating at the harbor near our hotel. Once we got there we parked and began to take our food out the bag. My friend had gotten an omelette w onions and spinach and I asked if I could try a piece. Mind you I am a very observant person and always have been. So out of habit I look at my food before eating it. When I looked down at the piece of egg I noticed a dead nat. Immediately my stomached sank. I showed my friend and she said she wished I hadn't shown her. So I decided to search through the rest of my food and low and behold there were nats all in BOTH of our omlettes. As soon as you flipped it open that's all you could see. I was so livid and disgusted. The food looks AMAZING at first site but if you start cutting and looking hard enough you will see what I mean.
We decided to take the food back and get our money. We called the restaurant and told them what had just happened and both the mother and daughter of the restaurant tried to act as if what I was telling them was made up. So when we returned back to the restaurant I didn't make a scene just took them back the food and asked for my money. I even tried to show the mother the bugs and she tried to insult my intelligence by INSISTING they were peppers! I couldn't believe she tried to lie to my face and say that. I replied back to her with peppers don't have wings. And as she gave me my money back she tried to put it on the table for me to get but I took it out her hand before she could. When a customer feels a bug was in their meal you treat them with the upmost respect and apologize even if you feel it was 'peppers'. For all she knows I could have been a undercover health inspector. I know this may be very long to most, but I hope anyone considering trying this...
Read moreHad such a wonderful time here capping off a weekend of 30th birthday fun for a friend in the area.
We waited about a half an hour just about noon on a Sunday. Beyond worth the wait. We were a group of 7 - not always easy to accommodate. Nice bit of time to take out cash (it's cash only) next door, and check out some of the cute shops around.
The service was unbelievable. The wait staff was prompt, helpful, accommodating and fun. Our waiter was on top of everything from start to finish. Another gentleman who worked there actually went to other local businesses when they didn't have change of my $20 in the restaurant. Just a nice touch going above and beyond no questions asked.
The food was so reasonably priced and top notch. We got almost a full round of milkshakes to start, and a whole bunch of coffee. Milkshakes were amazing. So thick and delicious. I ordered the Eggs Florentine and a side of corned beef hash. Everything was fresh, tasty, cooked perfectly. The English muffins were buttery, the poached eggs perfect and the hollandaise so rich I didn't even feel the need to add hot sauce to each bite....and I put hot sauce on everything. The hash was the perfect blend of meat and potatoes. It hit the spot.
A bunch of my friends for pancake and French toast dishes that came piled high with fruit on top. It was so refreshing. I feel like so many brunch or breakfast spots painstakingly part with sides of fruit unless they've got a ton of not-yet-ripe fruit to dump on you. This place was generous with the freshest of fresh fruit. For the price, it was unreal.
We left full, satisfied, and thinking about our next trip up to Nyack just to come back here again.
You need to get here and try it out for...
Read moreDidn't even get to eat here but we left because the service was so awful. It's as though it was their first day in business. We arrived and there was a line of people waiting out front. We put our name down on the list and was told it was a 20 minute wait to be seated (not specifically indoor or outdoor). Just as we got there a party of 2 was seated in a table meant for 6 people even though there was a party of 5 waiting. The party of 2 clarified to the host that they were only a party of 2 and wouldn't utilize the whole table. The host told them to sit anyway. 20 minutes into waiting 3 other outdoor tables cleared out and the same host combined both tables to seat the party of 5. He could have seated 3 parties instead of 2 had he just used his brain. While we were waiting for our table, a car pulled up and dropped a woman off who went to put her name down. That party must have been friends with the host because they sat within 10 minutes of arriving there, infuriating the rest of the people waiting outside, most of whom decided to then leave. After 40 minutes of waiting for a table that we were told would only take 20 minutes, we decided to leave as well. I would also like to mention that the party of 2 at the 5 seater table who sat just when we got there still hadn't receuved their food after 40 minutes of waiting for eggs. Who runs this place? It was a Monday too so you can't even say this was a weekend rush... horrible. Don't waste your morning like we did. Go...
