This is by far the best Italian restaurant on Long Island. the food is very fresh and high quality. The service spot on too. Victor (owners son) runs the place mostly and is doing all the cooking himself. Pete the bartender and the entire wait staff are all friendly and very helpful. The 1st picture is lobster seafood salid for takeout for Thanksgiving dinner. The wine room has regular dinner seating and also can be reserved for private parties. There also is valet parking. They also have an elaborate Italian wine list stored in their masive wine cellar. Ask for the Zucchini flowers for an appetizer it's a definite must try. But no matter what you order you will not be disappointed.

Franina's Restaurant, one of the premier Italian eateries on Long Island, offers consistently fresh, high-quality cuisine and attentive, friendly service. Their extensive Italian wine selection, housed in an impressive cellar, complements any meal. Customers are guaranteed satisfaction, no matter their order. The only potential drawback is the sometimes challenging parking situation.

We’ve been coming to Franina for years but I never posted anything until now. The food is excellent and the presentation is elegant and creative. Check out the Frutti di Mare. It could have been plated like most other restaurants do which is a pile of seafood on a few large leaves of romaine. But at Franina, it’s a work of art and absolutely delicious.

Let’s start with the good. The service was great, the waiters and staff were very friendly. The Bad : The food was mediocre, not what I expected when I read these reviews. I didn’t mind paying $27.99 for chicken parmesan (that was average), but when I ordered a SMALL side of rigatoni to go with the meal, I was charged an extra $10. This side was very small, around 10 pieces of rigatoni in a small 3” round cup. $10 for that small side is insane. My wife ordered a chicken special and it was very dry.

We were seated at the end of the room, and the floor is slanted and not level. It feels like you are going to fall over since you are extremely slanted. If you placed a ball on the table it would roll off, that is how un-level the floor is.

I am not one to write bad reviews and I am a supporter of local business. I was just extremely displeased by the food, over priced mini-side dish...

Where do I start? My 7:30 reservation was not in their book. However, they did find us a table right away. It took over an hour for our appetizers to be served once we had to ask our waiter where our food was. Every other table that sat down after us was already served their food. Our waiter Joseph then disappeared and no longer wanted to serve us. He also had an attitude, as he didn’t like our choice of food selection. We wanted to try their homemade pastas. It seemed that Joseph only wanted to serve his regulars. Unfortunately, this will be our first and last time there!! Had to ask for the check since we were being ignored and that took at least 30 minutes. Food was good but not...
