The drinks were the perfect start to our meal. The Virgin Mojito was incredibly refreshing with just the right amount of mint and citrus, while the Oreo Shake was a thick, indulgent treat that hit all the sweet notes without being overly heavy.
For appetizers, the Spanakopita Empanada was a clever twist on a classic, with a flaky, crispy exterior and a perfectly seasoned spinach and cheese filling. The Greek Style Nachos were a showstopper—crispy tortilla chips topped with tzatziki, feta cheese, and olives, adding a fresh, tangy layer to every bite. The Street Corn was another highlight, bursting with flavor, charred to perfection, and drizzled with a savory blend of cheeses and spices.
For the main course, the Sizzling Fajita was everything you’d expect from a sizzling platter—tender, flavorful shrimp, served with a side of seasoned beans, rice, and all the classic fixings. The Fresh Black Bean Burger was another winner—juicy, flavorful, and topped with crispy onion rings that added a perfect crunch.
Grexicana’s blend of Greek and Mexican cuisines creates a one-of-a-kind dining experience, with bold, vibrant flavors and thoughtful combinations. The service was excellent, making the meal even more enjoyable. Read moreBeing a local Farmingdale restaurant we were intrigued to see the Grexicana restaurant planned opening. Finally got to check it out. We had a 7:30p reservation and walked in to a packed restaurant and quite a few people waiting to be seated. The hostess (who I believe is the owner) informed us that a party of 25 had been seated so things were backed up but that we should be seated in about 10 minutes. I prepared myself for a tough evening. But it was awesome. We waited at the bar and had drinks and wound up being seated quickly. Our server - Alex - was at the table immediately to say hello and take our drink order. From there Alex was amazing. She was juggling bar and table duties but you'd never know it. Our drinks came out quick. Once we place our food orders the food came out quick and was delicious. Clearly everything was made fresh. We started with the Halloumi fries with Carnitas (amazing) and cheesy nachos (very tasty). My wife got the Chorizo Patsitsio and me/my buddy got the gyro taco platter. My friends wife got the salmon. Everything delicious. We capped the evening off with dessert drinks and desserts. The mexican brownie tasted like it was made within the last hour of being served and was clearly homemade - very tasty. As we ended our meal the owner came to the table to thank us for visiting, apologized that we had to wait to be seated (which didn't seem like much time to be honest) and comped our desserts!

Read moreInteresting new spot that's worth a stop in. I found this place on accident and figured I'd give it a shot. It's a fusion of Mexican and Greek flavors.
I started with the shrimp Santorini tamal. The flavor of the tamal, tomato sauce, and the feta cheese worked very well. The quality of the tamal itself was not fantastic. I'm not sure if they bake or deep fry them, but the outside was way too firm. For mains, I ordered the shrimp and grits, and my girlfriend ordered the lamb birra over orzo. The shrimp and grits were a miss for me. I felt that the flavors didn't come together as well as they should, and the sourness overpowered all other tastes. I did, however, really enjoy the lamb birra. The lamb was cooked perfectly, the flavors were great together, and the orzo was a great addition to the dish to really bring the Greek and Mexican fusion.
The service was a little off when we went. It was a weekday, so I don't think they expected the large rush that they got. There was one female waitress and one male who I think was a busser/helper taking care of all the tables. They were absolutely amazing. I really can't say enough good things about them. They were literally at every table doing their best. But as good as they were, maybe get another waiter so it's not just them busting their butts?
All in all, it's a newer restaurant that just needs a little fine tuning. I would recommend stopping in to try some of the dishes. I would go back for some of the dishes I didn't try and maybe some of the cocktails they have. They have a...
