Hoi Won Chinese Take Out — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

How is this place getting 5 star reviews? Tried this place after our usual Chinese restaurant was closed. It was edible, but nothing special. It def did not reflect the 4.9 rating on grubhub. Wonton soup and chicken dumplings were the highlight. They were what you'd expect from a Chinese restaurant. These items are the reason that I'm giving 3 stars instead of 2 stars. The shrimp Pad Thai was basically shrimp Lo Mein with rice noodles instead of Lo mein noodles. No peanuts, not spicy at all (despite being listed as spicy). Having said that, I understand that it's not usual Chinese cuisine, but it was on the menu, so they should at least be able to make an approximation of Pad Thai. Love their steamed wontons in garlic sauce. Decent egg rolls, soups are terrific. Every entree we've had has been good to very good. Really can't complain about the food or the folks cooking up my take out orders. There are a few small tables inside if you're inclined to eat here rather then bring your food home. I didn't try their delivery option. Pricing is comparable for the area. Reason for 4 stars vs 5 is the parking lot. If it's busy it can be a bit of a pain maneuvering if you're parked...

This place was great until several months ago and has just gone down-hill. Maybe change of ownership or new chefs? I placed my order at the restaurant and watched them prepare the food. However, the lo mein was very dry and no flavor, the boneless spareribs was dry and tough; even the fried rice was bland. On top of the food being prepared poorly, it also tasted old. I won't be back which is such a shame since this place was very good...
