My husband and I attended a Sunday luncheon with my extended family at La Viletta and were disappointed by the food. We had a 4 course meal consisting of salad, pasta, main course, and desert. My husband thought his Caesar salad and his Penne Alla Vodka didn't stand up against other restaurant's flavors. He thought the Caesar salad was less than mediocre and the Penne Alla Vodka was mediocre. My husband's and my Chicken Francaise was thick breasted, rather than cut to cutlet thickness, which would have been okay if they had tenderized it prior to cooking. Instead, it was tough and chewy. Unfortunately, it declined from there. The lemon sauce needed deliberate thickening. The sauce also had a distinct broth flavor, instead of the lemon and wine used to make the sauce too. In fact, the sauce only hinted at a lemon being used to create the sauce. The restaurant was skimpy with their desserts. Though our tiramisu dessert was delicious, the portion was much smaller than elsewhere. In fact, my cousin had ordered a slice of cheesecake and received a dieter's sliver, while others received a regular sized small slice. Unfortunately, they had chosen the wrong person to give the sliver to since that cousin was our host and paying the bill. Though that was the disappointing condition of our food items, I must say that La Villetta had very good service and the atmosphere was pleasant. So, if your not Italian or Italian-American, not a foody, and not a home cook who makes Italian dishes, you might like...
Read moreDO NOT COME HERE... service was terrible and food below average. When we walked in, I see the man greeting customers shaking his head no to my boyfriend and tells us they couldn't take us. He didn't even attempt to give us a wait time or write our names down on a list, he simply said no. I asked how long the wait was he said more than 30 min. I told him we'd have drinks at the bar while we waited, then miraculously he said a table opened up. During dinner, we noticed there were plenty of open tables for the 1 1/2 hours we were there. After dinner, my boyfriend and I sat with empty plates for over 10 minutes. I wanted to order a coffee but they never gave us a desert menu or came by to ask us if we wanted coffee or tea. By this point we were both fed up and asked for the bill, at least 20-25 minutes had passed since we finished dinner. We felt extremely uncomfortable and just wanted to get out but couldn't because it took them another 10 minutes to bring us the bill. I made them aware of this and I thought at the very least they'd take the $10 glass of wine off the bill for their lousy service but they couldn't...
