I'm so happy this space was taken over by this restaurant! The food was excellent. We went with another couple and did our best to try as much as possible. First, the strip steak entree was a winner- flavorful, perfectly cooked steak with a homemade mushroom-stuffed puff pastry/croissant style thing that was amazing in and of itself. This entree is more than $50 at any steakhouse. It is $36 here.
The bacon and peanut butter app was a lovely marriage of two foods I had never thought of pairing. Will get this every time I go.
My wife got the ravioli, which was excellent.
We all split the carbonara as one of our apps. Aside from needing to have some pepper cracked on it, it was great.
They serve bourbon on the rocks with just 1 big ice cube, which I am always happy to see.
The beer menu was more macro, less craft, but they did have barrier money IPA.
Desserts! We got 4 different things. All were very well done. The lemon curd one was my favorite, followed by the cheesecake. I forget the proper names of the other 2, but I enjoyed them as well.
We got 4 apps, plus carbonara to share, 4 entrees (2 were the half portions), 4 desserts, and 8 cocktails/bourbons. Bill came to a very reasonable $193 per couple before tip. The chef came out and talked with us for probably 5-10 minutes after our meal too. He was great.
They also have a bar menu with burgers and other bar food. We are going back soon to sit at the bar and try the bar food. Looking forward to it!
Oh, and in a huge win for the area, they will begin doing weekend brunches soon!!!
EDIT- We went back a 2nd time to try out some of the bar food. This is the best burger I have had in the area. It is the same level as burgerology in huntington. The burger was a PERFECT medium rare, and I am a stickler for this. We loved the deviled eggs which were supremely tangy. The fried chicken was more like adult chicken fingers than the bone-in fried chicken I was expecting, but...
Read moreThere is ample parking on the both of their parking lots located on Lafayette Avenue. One is located next to the restaurant and the other lot is right across the street.
The ambiance is nice and quiet, great for a date night or an evening with friends. My friend and I went and upon entering was greeted by their staff member, Lisa. She was friendly and provided some great choices for our meal. The chef/owner was also very friendly and polite and brought out our dishes to introduce himself and personally make sure we were enjoying our meal.
For appetizers, we ordered the Watermelon tomato salad and the Charred Octopus which were both large enough for us to share. Both were light and refreshing, especially the watermelon tomato salad, which I believe had a balsamic vinaigrette and mint topping. It was delicious and definitely something I would order again.
For the main course, we tried their grilled swordfish and the saffron ricotta ravioli. I would highly recommend the swordfish, it was soft, juicy and delicious. The seasoning was just right and one of the best swordfish I’ve had.
Didn’t have a chance to try their desserts because my friend and I were stuffed!
Overall, the customer service was great, along with the food. The dishes are thoughtfully prepared and the ingredients used are prepared with care.
Will definitely go back for their brunch, which is Sundays from 10am-3pm but definitely...
Read moreI rarely leave reviews, but after the phenomenal meal I had at Maldon & Mignonette I HAD to share my experience!!! Right off the bat when you walk into Maldon & Mignonette you immediately feel welcomed by an extremely kind and warm staff. The atmosphere is so cozy and unique with the best 90s playlist you could imagine. After settling in with a glass of wine and reading the menu I realized the menu had seasonal options as well, which I LOVE! It really shows the personal touch that the chef puts into the delicious menu! Everything we had was absolutely delicious with a beautiful Instagram worthy presentation!! Our favorite appetizer was the whipped goat cheese and ricotta balls. We are still talking about them! Chef Rob was amazing as well! He was so personable and answered all of our questions and really helped us pick what to order. Every dish was so unique and delicious. We ordered the pork chops along with the gnocchi for dinner. It was the most flavorful and tender pork chop I’ve ever had and the gnocchi was made in house! From the appetizers and dinner to the best trifle I’ve ever had for dessert along with an extremely knowledgeable, friendly and attentive staff, my experience was 10/10! By far my new favorite restaurant!! We can’t wait to try their brunch next! Run don’t walk to Maldon...
