Mr Beery’s: Where Julia Pours Liquid Gold & Steve Beery Reigns Supreme in Controlled Chaos
If dive bars had a heartbeat, Mr Beery’s in Bethpage would be thumping at 200 BPM. This place isn’t just a bar—it’s a beautifully chaotic, music-soaked, laughter-filled sanctuary where regulars and newcomers all feel like they belong. And at the center of it all are two legends: Julia and Steve Beery.
Julia: The Wizard Behind the Bar
Let’s talk about Julia—a one-woman show of speed, smarts, and sass. She doesn’t just serve drinks—she sets the tone. With her quick wit, sharper side-eye, and flawless drink radar, she turns pouring a pint into performance art.
She knows what you need before you say a word. She can shut down nonsense with a look, rally a crowd with a smile, and somehow manage ten things at once without breaking a sweat. Being served by Julia is part of the Beery’s experience—and once you’ve had it, you don’t want anything less.
Steve Beery: The Master of Vibes
Then there’s Steve—the mad scientist of atmosphere, the man who makes the madness work. Whether he’s running sound, working the lights, booking killer bands, or just welcoming folks at the door, Steve is everywhere and somehow always cool under pressure.
His energy is the pulse of the place. He curates a calendar packed with live music, wild theme nights, and surprises that make each visit feel like you’re walking into a new chapter of a wild, unwritten novel.
Why Beery’s Feels Like Home
This isn’t a place you go to—it’s a place you become part of. The music is loud, the crowd is real, and the atmosphere crackles with something rare: authenticity.
You’ll dance. You’ll laugh. You’ll overhear the most insane conversations. You’ll come for one drink and stay five hours because you just don’t want to leave.
Final Verdict: Mr Beery’s is the crown jewel of Long Island dive bars. Come for Julia’s legendary service, stay for Steve’s masterclass in making controlled chaos feel like comfort.

Read moreWhenever I bring someone to Mr Beery’s for the first time, they almost always say, “Where the hell are you taking me to?!” Within an hour their attitude has changed and they love it as much as I do. They meet Steve Beery and they can’t wait to come back. It’s a dive bar with a great attitude, socially conscious, regular folks as clientele and beer and liquor choices that are second to none. I can not recommend enough that you give this place a try...( and then buy me a beer and say “My G-d, you were right!” like so many have before)....

I sincerely appreciate the time cuz they didn't care that I was a comedian. But don't expect the attention that you think you deserve. These people want to listen to tunes and drink. As far as music's concerned, GREAT vibe. If you're an up-and-coming musician, this place is very nurturing and supportive. As long as you're not telling hacky jokes, everyone's very friendly and welcoming. Had a...
