Sake Asian — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

I would like to preface this by saying that I am not one to write reviews, especially negative reviews, on Google, Yelp, etc. but I just feel the need to share my thoughts about my sushi experience on Sunday 8/4.

The Sake Asia in Babylon, while the same owners, is a MUCH BETTER overall experience. The service, food and overall atmosphere and design of the place is vastly superior. I go to the Babylon one all the time and it's great, but I went to this one in Massapequa this time to meet up with some friends who live in Nassau to make the trip more equal.

First, when you walk in, the atmosphere is very poor. The dining room and the whole place in general looks extremely old and disgusting; not welcoming and some serious re-design needs to be done. It felt like I was in an old chinese food place in NYC. the

Starting dinner off, the Miso soup was flavorless; no salt or anything. I was basically just eating warm cloudy water with seaweed in it. I ordered the Kani salad as well which was not mixed and again had minimal flavor with Kewpie mayo thrown on top.

The part that really got to me was I ordered 4 pieces of sushi with the apps before my rolls. 2 snapper, 2 striped bass. They did not come with the apps, so I ordered it again. 2 out of the 4 pieces came towards the end of dinner, and when I mentioned I got 4 pieces, the server said something along the lines of "yeah its coming" and when I asked again to make sure he said yes. The final 2 pieces NEVER CAME.

The specialty rolls we ordered were wrong. They gave us 2 of the same roll when we only ordered 1 and they didnt even bring us some rolls that we ordered. At that point I didnt even try to order them again I was just overall done with eating there.

On a positive note, the sushi rolls still tasted good and were prepared well, just like their place in Babylon. I have no complaints on the quality of the sushi itself.

I will continue to eat at exclusively the Babylon one from now on, stay away from this one...

The most abusive, disrespectful, nasty staff ever,! Filthy restaurant, horrible food!

The owner and staff actually watch everyone on hidden cameras to make sure no one let's another person at the table try your food! Absolutely true! My friend who btw ordered her own dish tasted, took one damn bite of my food and was charged extra for a bite!!! This is absolutely wrong, corrupt and must be stopped!

I am taking the time and energy here so that others will not be abused and taken advantage of!

Also if you do not finish all the food on your plate , you are asked to never return and are scolded!

I know this sounds unbelievable, as I was in shock while this was happening! All true! Bogus charges, filthy food, Abusive staff and bugs!

Never in my life have I been spoken to with such disrespect and disdain! Avoid this place like the plague! They do not clear the tables and leave filth all over the floors and chairs. The food was awful and the owner is rude! Stay away! Overpriced and horrific beyond words! This restaurant charges extra if you give your friend who also has ordered a dish extra money just to let them "taste" a bite of your food!!! Seriously a bite is not permitted as they will add more charges to the check! This is totally and...

So I was in the mood for some AYCE sushi spots and my daughter found this spot out of no where.. it’s more south than where I am but I gotta say.. WHAT A FIND!

When we walked in we sat down and they gave us an iPad to order off from. Everything in their extensive menu is included in the Ayce! The descriptions are in a menu they provided as well.

We ordered sashimi, sushi, hot food, special sushi apps like salmon belly tartare, tuba martini, like everything in the menu is part of this AYCE. And there’s a lot to choose from. Great hot apps and entrees like some Thai dishes like drunken noodle and pineapple fried rice! Sorry for the poor photos the kids didn’t give me any chance to take nice photos of the food as they devoured everything lol

Don’t expect high extreme omakase style quality fish but overall for the price you pay @ $31pp I think this is an amazing spot to try! I really love the fact you can order off iPad so there’s no waving ppl down for the order sheet like the other AYCE. Good idea guys!

Service was great too.. being a Saturday night they were pretty attentive. Overall I’m happy w this place and I’ll be coming here again and bringing my friends who are fans...
