I had been looking forward to this place opening for awhile when I had seen the signs first coming up, and I finally got my chance to stop on for a late breakfast and some coffee.

The wait was worth it, I have nothing but good things to say about this place. For a Café, there is way more seating than typical which is already a huge plus for me. The decor is nothing flashy but lights are kept a little dim and the music is nice, low and ambient to let you chat with whoever you may be with with ease. I had a French toast muffin, something brand new to me and it was delicious. They had a number of others to choose from that I was interested in as well, along with a decent menu of other hot breakfast and lunch items that looked to be just as tasty from what I saw on other patrons' plates. But let's be real the real name of the game here is their coffee. And not only is it good, but they have enough flavor options to make your head spin if that's your vibe. I went with pistachio and white chocolate, "the Sicilian kiss" and was pleasantly surprised at the robust flavor while not being overly sweet. Staff were both very kind and quick to serve.

Parking can be a little weird, but there are side streets and a few municipal lots close by that don't make it too much of an issue.

There's a lot of competition for coffee places popping around Nassau and Suffolk, but this place really won me over. Would make for a great date spot or even just a relaxing place to work for a bit if you needed a change of scenery. Looking forward to coming back here and trying out even more of what this place...

The Perk and Press feels like a hidden poem in the middle of the day, a place where time slows just enough for you to breathe it all in. The moment I stepped inside, I felt it all. The warmth, comfort, and that soft buzz of good energy that only truly special spaces have. The lighting, the music, the gentle hum of conversation. It all blends into a kind of quiet magic. But the real moment of poetry came in a cup: their chai. Rich, golden, and alive with spice. It was like autumn wrapped in silk. The flavor danced between bold and soothing, layered with cinnamon and cardamom, with just enough sweetness to make you close your eyes after the first sip. It was crafted, not made. Like someone took the time to understand what chai should be. There’s a soul to this place. A rhythm. A reason to linger. I’ll be coming back, again and again, for the vibes, the people, and...

Have you been looking for a hometown coffee shop that just happens to be a full service breakfast and lunch spot with savory food items? Come to Massapequa, specifically The Perk & Press. It’s a charming little place on Broadway, just north of the train station, right next to Marcels Custom Kitchens and Baths. In the morning hours you’ll see the hustle and bustle of train goers, teachers & students on their way to school and professionals stopping in for their favorite coffee blends. I’m going to suggest stopping by for lunch! Today I had “The Pequa.” It’s Parmesan crusted chicken, covered with spinach & artichoke dip and a roasted red pepper sauce, then tucked in between two slices of buttery toasted sourdough…super delicious, ask for extra napkins! The chefs are top notch, the workers are so helpful and...

Went on a busy Saturday afternoon and when I asked the staff what can be gluten free since the menu is a bit unclear they asked the manager to come out and talk to me. He was super nice, explaining they have a dedicated gluten free frier for chicken fingers and fries, and that any sandwich except for one (I believe it was a Parmesan crusted one) could be ordered gluten free with the gf ciabatta bread. I wish I asked more questions about how they toast the GF Ciabatta, I assumed they would toast it in a clean pan where they cooked the eggs for my sandwich to avoid cross contamination. The bread was small but one order came with TWO mini sandwiches which was perfect, and they were really good too! I'll definitely come back to try the gluten free soups. So excited to have more GF options in the neighborhood!!
