I'm updating this review as of August 2024. My most recent visit, I went to the juice bar. During the week, there are usually different workers. The white guy with the glasses is the nicest one there. He always greets me and asks how I'm doing. On Saturday, the black girl was there and I had gotten a juice along with the 5 items I had. She rings everything up, then tells me, "I don't have any bags." She made no attempt to go and get any. Then like a passive people pleaser acting like Laura from Little House On The Prairie, I went over by the courtesy desk to get a bag. I go back, put it on the counter. She turns her back starts cleaning up, then looks and sees I'm still there. I said, " Can you bag the items for me?" She says,"You want me to bag them?" I'm thinking, WTH! She had a major attitude and didn't even say, have a nice day or anything and this is the same girl who tried to say she was closed before the actual time on a previous visit. I went to the manager and he told her to accommodate me with a juice. I should've gone full Cardi B on her, but I didn't.
It's ironic, she treated the white lady so much better. The lady said, thank you after she got her juice, the girl's like, "You're welcome." All friendly. I'm African American just like her and it baffles me when someone who's the same ethnicity as I am or the people that are as dark as I am can be so rude, nasty and aloof. It's bad enough that I've experienced racism from whites, but I guess it comes down to the actual person. The white guy there is the friendliest and is more personable. Remember, people wanna be nice to those they wanna be nice to. And yes, I take things personally.
One day on New Year's Day my friend and I went here to pick up a few things and an employee totally overlooked me and served someone else a guy who ignored me as well, I told him I was going to the manager, he didn't seem to care and my friend told him to apologize but he wouldn't. I only shop here occasionally.
A few times one of the workers almost walked into me and didn't even say sorry and one almost knocked me over to get down the aisle. They always seem to be in a rush in that store without any regard for the customers, blocking the aisles with things so we have to squeeze by and it's a hassle and in the produce section, you can't shop without someone asking you to move every second!
One time when there was covid, we asked a guy to sanitize his hands because he had just put them all near his nose and mouth then was going to touch my food and they look at you like you're crazy for asking. And a white lady and her nerdy husband were looking at me like I was making a scene. I'm sure she wouldn't have wanted anyone doing that to her items. She was nosy! A lot of racists customers in this store too.
So am update about the juice bar, the black girl has been a bit better. But I'm always on guard when it comes to...
Read moreTerrible customer service. Over the last year I've purchased dozens of items which were spoiled. Today was the last straw for me when I saw 2 and a half wheels of cheese which were dated March 6, 2024, and today's date is March 15, 2024. These were not single serve mini wheels of cheese, but rather large ones which are approximately 18 inches in diameter. Had I not brought this to the stores' attention I'm certain these wheels would have been cut up and put out on the shelf. Each wheel of cheese I'd imagine is around 20 or so servings, so 40+ people potentially could've gotten very ill. This matter shouldn't be taken lightly. This also confirms my hypothesis which is spoiled cheese and other goods are regularly put out for sale at this store. Management doesn't want to throw them away I suspect because it hurts their bottom line, and this puts customers health at risk.
I brought this to the attention of the Customer Service Manager, John. He had the cheese pulled from the shelf, but it doesn't change the fact that this has happened dozens of times over the last year. Many of these times I became very ill, and suffered stomach issues which lasted for weeks. His response was "if something is spoiled you can bring it back for a full refund". My response is that a refund for a spoiled item doesn't undo the fact that I was ill due to the store's negligence. A refund for the spoiled item isn't adequate compensation given the situation. I wrote this on a comment card approximately a month and a half or 2 months ago, I listed my email and phone number on the card and requested that someone contact me, but no one did. Around this same time I called corporate and gave them my contact information, and once again I was never contacted. Today I brought this to John's attention as well, and he expressed little remorse, and begrudgingly offered a $10 gift card. A gesture which in my opinion is a total slap in face. $10 doesn't even buy you a piece of the spoiled cheese that was out on shelf. This is the "apology" for a customer who spends approximately $200 per week. I asked to speak with his manager, Sam, who was perhaps even more unsympathetic about the situation.
Terrible management and customer service from Sam and John.
I've included 2 pictures of the spoiled cheese for reference, and will be notifying the department of health shortly. I've also posted this to X (formerly Twitter) and @ Whole Foods, and I told Sam and John I'd be doing so. Hopefully I get a better response on...
Read moreWent to drop off a return item at the Amazon drop box. I scanned my item and it printed a label and then it said to put my item in a polybag which there was none, so I went up to the counter to ask the girl and she said she can do it for me. She attempted to scan the printed label but was it was being rejected. A young man was there and told me that he cannot accept the return because it was not scanning. I told him that the other machine I used was able to scan. He insisted that he couldn't accept it and that's it. No intention or desire to even try to help me figure out the disconnect. I guess I was interrupting his flirting time with the young lady. I asked him to please get his manager or someone who could help me. He said I am the manager and I cannot help you. I went back to the machine and the young lady followed me as she truly did want to help me. The kiosk machine was able to scan and I figured the problem was there were so many other labels in the dispenser that had been lying there and I picked up another label. The whole point being Mr. Manager did not even try to to attempt to help me he just shut me down because I was interrupting his flirting with an employee session. I've been to Whole foods many times and I have never had this level of rudeness and disrespect by any employee moreso a "manager" . He definitely needs to go back to manager school for...
