This place absolutely took us by surprise. Looking around for a Thai restaurant to eat we found this in the local area and decided to give it a try. Was treated very well from the very door and seated right away in a busy time of the restaurant. The waitress gave very good suggestions and we decided to go with her opinion on the ribeye steak dinner for two with the spicy ginger sauce. We started with the calamari appetizer which came in almost immediately and was just the right portion for two to share. Dinner served shortly after with both dishes prepped beautifully and with the most fantastic flavor and taste. The steak cooked medium well/medium with delicious Thai flavoring and spices and was cooked to perfection with each bite breaking apart so easily and minimal fat. A dessert of soft warm brownie á la mode (which appears to be their only dessert option at this time, only downfall) to finish dinner. Everything came out to be delicious and eye catching as Thai food should be and by far the best I've had from multiple Thai restaurants I've visited in NYC/ upstate area.
After having drinks, appetizer, dinner, and dessert with such quality and service one can only expect a moderate to expensive pricing. To our surprise which placed this rating at 5 starts for us was the price we paid for all the the experience, not including the time, only $52.62.
Absolutely stunning. Magnificent service, food, and all for a very pleasant price. Bangkok City is a must to return to and eating in if never been to before. Couldn't be...
Read moreA friend and I were in the mood for Thai and we decided to try Bangkok City because I liked the way it looked. Boy was that a great idea! Its very small and intimate, but the food is outstanding, and the service is unsurpassed! We ordered the Thai Samosas and chicken wings to start. The Samosas were deep fried and came with a sauce that was delicious. The wings were also deep fried, sitting on a tamarind sauce that was a little sweet and spicy, with a small portion of cabbage drizzled with aioli. My friend ordered Bangkok Street with Musaman Curry, and I ordered the same, except with Sweet and Sour. All I can say is YUMMY!! We also shared fried banana with ice cream at the end of our meal. The service was wonderful, and attentive, as well as very nice. The one drawback is that you have to look for parking, because there is no dedicated parking area. Still, we found a spot in less then 5 minutes. If you enjoy Thai food, or want to expand your palate, Bangkok City is a wonderful...

While dining out it seems everything is too salty these days, but even this was way too much. From the minced chicken appetizer to the Thai burrito to the pad Thai, nothing had much flavor other than too much salt. The burrito was disappointing as I expected something to make it Thai-ish, but I felt like I was eating fried salty rice. Pad Thai was 3/10 and that's being generous.
The entire rest of the day I felt bloated from the salt and very much regretted eating here.
While there might be SOMETHING on the menu that's palatable, eg not ridiculously salted, this experience was so poor I would not venture to try and end up regretting again.
It's too bad as the service was really good and the restaurant seemed cozy enough. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but I...
