Gourmet Express — Restaurant in Town of Pelham

Over the last 15+yrs ive had the pleasure of patronizing this establishment, it use to be a great experience but over the last year or 2 each time i visit it seems to just barely hit the bar. The food isn’t labeled anymore, it lacks flavor and it’s just pricey with out the perks now. Recently I visited and as I wrapped up my purchase I looked forward to MY FREE dessert well guess what nope. I spent 56.45 and was told how it’s now minus the drink and taxes. The drink was 7.97 and the taxes was 4.22.. TF!!!! Look it’s already BS that they raised the minimum for the free dessert, your food has gone down hill and the drinks are now around 2-4 dollars more.. The staff can’t answer any questions due to the lack of ability to answer or the language barriers. So if you have an allergy you can’t ask them what the item is because they don’t speak English nor do they have any food items labeled..

This use to be the best place to get flavorful food whether you are a carnivore, Vegetarian or pescatarian, Vegatarian etc… now it’s just bland and expensive..

How do you mess up Mac and cheese, fish that’s in a sauce or fried...

This place is great for a busy professional like myself. I tend to work late, and I don’t have time to cook every day. I wish they stayed open a little later, but 9:30 pm is okay because it forces me to leave work earlier, lol... Since I often take food out, it’s really nice to have something different, that’s home cooked and healthy. I get bored of Chinese food & Pizza. Gourmet Express has a wide variety of cultural foods - American, West Indian, Latino, and African dishes. They have vegetables, meats, casseroles, fish, fried foods, and vegetarian options.The food always tastes great, as they have many options. From a delicious hot food buffet, to a scrumptious cold salad buffet, as well as plenty of soups to choose from. They also serve a wide variety of fresh juices, coffee, espresso & desserts. The main thing is that any time you go, their food is always delicious and fresh. The staff are warm and humble. I have been there 7 times in March alone, and I am so impressed by how delicious their food is every...

By far the best tasting food in the Bronx! No other place has so many options. You would think that something would not taste right BUT LITERALLY, everything I ever tried there was delicious! Food goes by weight and the price can add up when you load up. However when you factor in the taste and options available, you still come out cheaper than going to a traditional dine in restaurant. Too many options available to name. The fact that it’s food to go is thee ONLY thing stopping this from being thee best place to eat in the Bronx. They sell trays of food for events and we have ordered trays for several events and the food was always hitting the way it was in the restaurant and the pickup/customer service by the staff was quick and accommodating with extra sauces.
