George's — Restaurant in Town of Penfield

I really wanted to like this place. We recently moved into the area and were thinking that this might be our next "go to" restaurant that we would frequent once a week or so.

Prices are high, serving sizes are small, and food is bland. We've been there a couple of times so far. The one time got a sesame tuna steak. Now I don't expect a diner to cook it appropriately rare with an uncooked middle like it should be but it came quite well done and extremely dry. I asked where the sauce was but there was none. The "sesame" part of the dry tuna steak was because the they sprinkle some sesame seeds on top.

One other time I got some sort of seafood platter with shrimp and scallops and haddock in a lemon butter sauce. It was OK but it was bland, and serving size was small. I did get a side of mashed potatoes which were decent.

My wife got a shrimp and strawberry salad, featuring walnuts and feta cheese. There was extremely little walnuts and feta cheese- barely a sprinkle.

Another guest at our table got the turkey dinner with stuffing. Again, serving size was very small. In comparing with other diners in the area, you can get a turkey dinner for $10 where the food covers the plate and piles high. This turkey dinner was $12 and was very small. So again, priced a bit too high and serving size is a bit too low.

Service was fine and the atmosphere/ambiance was good.

I generally dont leave reviews on Pages however after today's experience I gotta speak on it. I come here often with an Individual I work for. And even today he Noticed how extremely NASTY one Waiter Is Upon our Arrival not just today but other times as well (As if She was disgusted with Us). Upon seating us her nasty demeanor continued to the point where I got annoyed and said "Could We have Another Waiter!" A few visits ago I remember watching this same Waiter be nasty and disrespectful to a party of over 10 elderly women she was waiting on.

Because integrity and morals go far. Why would I continue to spend my hard earned money on a place that doesn't know to treat their customers. Greet the Janitor the same way you would a CEO?! The food is Great. But how people are treated is even greater!!!! Idk any business that rather lose money than just provide decent customer service. I am GLAD to know that that Particular Waiter is Moving to Florida. Hopefully the Atmosphere will be much better once she's gone cause You can feel that nasty energy in the place. Also Shout out to Both Ms.June and Val......You both are Amazing Waitreses and I Appreciate You both for Always treating us With utmost Respect & Great customer Service. I'll never blame the whole establishment for one persons Lack Of Moral but it goes to show how one Bad Apple would have made yall look terrible....

I visited this restaurant with a friend of mine on the 30th and we were racially discriminated against. They didn’t want even seat us and then when my friend asked for menus and to be sat , the bartender behind the bar sat us and threw the menus on the table . He also sat us the furthest away from everyone else in the restaurant (basically segregating us. We sat there about 15 minutes and everyone was staring at us making us feel uncomfortable. Multiple servers pasted us multiple times and nobody asked us if we wanted anything or even stopped by the table . My friend (who is white) comes to this restaurant with his white mother and is never treated like this . He was actually shocked because he comes here all the time. The one time he comes with his (black) friend, we were treated very badly . Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone who isn’t black . They won’t serve you . I would leave a zero star review...
