I consider Sakura Garden to be a step beyond the typical, greasy Chinese takeout joint, but at the end of the day, it's a similar format. Sure you can eat in, but I usually treat it as a takeout place. In the five years I've been occasionally stopping in, I've never been disappointed by a hot entree off the Chinese menu. The vegetables are fresh and there's a lot more variety than a typical Chinese place. If I'm just picking up food for myself, I order an additional side of rice and get two meals out of one entree. The few times I've sat down and eaten there, the table service has been acceptable.
I'm seeing a lot of other reviewers comment on the poor quality of the sushi. I have never had any issues with it myself, but I am by no means vastly experienced in sushi. I'd say it's definitely better than Wegmans and the couple of sushi places on West Ridge I've been too. The joint I was in LA was better, but that's to be expected in a large, coastal city. I've had no complaints about the rolls at Sakura Garden.
Overall a solid choice for a relatively inexpensive meal. I'll continue to stop in as long as I...
Read moreI had Seafood Pan Fried Noodle as a takeout. The crispy fried noodles and food items were all placed in one container. The result 15-20 minutes later when we got home was mushy doughy noddles. The crab meat is imitation crab (pollock) which I’ve never had cooked before…. & I won’t again. It becomes this odd pastey, gooey, slimy substance. 🤮 One would think that the owners would know to separate crunchy items from fluids. Maybe they’ve never eaten heated imitation crab but I’d recommend just ditching it altogether. Totally gross. Finally the fried rice… never had it without egg and usually there’s some veggies (scallions, onion, red peppers etc) This was white rice..fried (sorta) with soy sauce. I mean… I guess it wasn’t a lie, fried…… rice. Perhaps a bad night for them but we won’t be heading back. If I’m going to gamble I want a chance to...
Read moreI ate at this place yesterday, and the server was mean as could be. I just wrote it off that she was probably having a bad day. I went back with my wife today though, and the experience was the same, the server/owner seemed angry and didn't want to help us with even the simplest thing. She seemed to be annoyed and inconvenienced about everything. Really, who needs to put up with that kind of service when you just want to relax and have a bite to eat? We'll never go back. I told them so at the restaurant. I talked with some relatives afterward and they said that they had the very same experience at this place and they also vowed to never go back. There is surely much better places to go where the people are...
