Usually a wonderful store but deeply disappointed on this trip. Checking out I put my open basket on the belt in front of my groceries (6 small). I asked if I should take my 2 heavy planters out of my cart. The checker said no. Went forward with my cart and she had put my small basket in the child seat and threwn the 6 items in the lower cart of the cart ahead. Also noted she did not wipe down the handle of the ahead cart. This simple failure to just throw my items in the basket caused the next person to come up and now the 3 of us are close while I pack up and the checker is throwing his items in the child seat of the cart I'm trying to get my stuff out of. Also, no one was wiping carts when I returned mine and then saw a lady walk in and grab it.
Please tell your checkers to slow down and think ahead. 6 feet should apply at check out too.
Kudos to Henrietta store that had a worker at the front wiping carts and handing them to...
Read moreVery disappointed in the produce lately. Bunch of bananas ripened poorly, and had numerous rotten area. Both times I've bought mangos here, they were hard as nails .... one never ripened and was almost useless, the other seemed to finally ripen, only to be mostly rotten inside. Same problem with 3 avocados. I could not return them, as each time I was in the middle of making dinner, and had already cut into them .... scooping or slicing out as much usable fruit as was possible (but still having to throw away 90%).
I know how to select fruit well, but for some reason, Aldi's is putting fruit out that is so unripe, it never becomes usable. Honestly, I've bought much better at Walmart. This is disappointing, as Aldi is very close to where I live (even walkable) and generally carries 85% of what I need. However, I do use a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, and this is not good. I hope whomever buys for this store does a better job...
Read moreAldi's has the best price for the quality grocery in town. My only complaint is that some of my favorite items are not sold on a regular basis: such as their tri-colored tortilla chips, and the steamed potato/green beans/carrots on garlic sauce frozen veggie.
I love their pre-mixed Indian, Thai, Korean, Mexican and Chinese sauces for $2.99 (some are $2.50) per bottle. I simply brown some meat or fish, add my choice of fresh or frozen veggies and pour a bottle of the sauce. It can feed a family...
