April 29th, 2022, we enjoyed our Anniversary Meal. I'm always skeptical on whether the food, service, or atmosphere will be good. Your restaurant nearly exceeded every mark. Very friendly and personable staff, We were there early almost after opening so we had pick of our reserved table. Our waitress was Julie whom did an excellent job and was quite personable . The food was so delicious, nothing over powering or over seasoned, everything was spot on.. My husbands only complaint was that the steak knife was in need of replacing and didn't cut through his medium rare porterhouse very well that was cooked perfectly. I personally had no complaints! Perhaps the part that baffled us the most of our first time visit was the fact we were charged nearly $9 for a small glass of Pepsi and my husband had no refills, I only has water as I don't drink wine or beer and those were the menu options, didn't get an actual beverage menu. But almost $9 for a small glass of Pepsi with ice in it and no refills... hmm Had it not been for those few things I would of given a solid 5 Gold Stars. Only other thing was for a couple this was quite a hefty price to the pocket, we also calculated a 20% tip but exceeded that by $10 with our own bad math, that's on us though. I would recommend here to anyone and I would come back for maybe just the salad .

My wife and I had an early dinner. The staff weren't ready at opening time, but quickly got things in order. The restaurant is well appointed both inside and on the covered porch. The view of the canal area is wonderful. I was a bit surprised, given the upscale nature and cost, that we were only supplied with smallish paper napkins. The waitress was pleasant, solicitous, but not intrusive. We got a pork and kimchi potsticker appetizer, which was nicely presented and delicious. The wine selection was adequate but not extensive. The onsite regular menu (not the specials) was different than that posted online, a disappointment for the choice I had hoped for. The entrees were somewhat of a disappointment. My beef bourguignon had some very tough pieces. My wife's portabella ravioli had a long, stringy hair coated in cheese in it. The waitress apologized and brought another plate, but I really expected management or the chef to apologize and offer some sort of comp. The lemon pucker cake for dessert was delicious. Our two wines and a scotch had a miserly pour. We had a mostly pleasant time, and the ambiance was great. But for a meal costing close to $120, I expected better quality of food and service. I would give it three and a half stars, but not four.

I've been wanting to try this place for the last 8 years. Every time I wanted to do it, another suggestion popped up and I always put this to the side. Well finally my girlfriend decided that she wanted to treat me to something special, and I mentioned The Porterhouse. As you can see in the photos, the food was absolutely delicious and presented in a way that highlighted how delicious it was. The only suggestion I can give them is to fix their high chairs, they only have male connections on each side. There was no way to strap my son in. Neither of the high chairs that they brought could accommodate his safety. The waitress was delightful, all of them were but specifically ours since she talked to us the most, and everyone made us feel like we were the only ones there. I will definitely be going back, and this time I will try one of there other dishes And maybe some dessert.

I called the Porterhouse Wednesday July 3rd, 2024 at 6:01pm and asked if they could do a table for two people at 6:15pm, the woman who answered said "oh yes, no problem". I asked if it was busy and she said "not at all". She took my name. We arrived to an empty podium and waited approximately 3 minutes. The hostess was very hurried and asked if I had a reservation. I gave my name and asked if there were any tables inside by the windows, she rolled her eyes and said "I don't think it's available". I said no big deal whatever you have. I'm sorry to say, we were seated at the far wall. There was a row of tables closer to the windows. She returned with water and indicated our server would be right over. Thirteen minutes later and no server and no acknowledgement from the hostess or anyone else. Sarah arrived and apologized that she was outside and it was "very busy". She was very friendly and knowledgeable. She took our drink order and approximately eight minutes later our one O'Douls and one Pepsi arrived. She upsold us on entrées and made wise and enjoyable suggestions. We were excited for two strip steaks. My house salad came out and was delicious. We then waited thirty three minutes. I hadn't seen Sarah for as long so I approached the podium where an older, shorter, blonde hair server was doodling. She made eye contact with me and said nothing. I politely asked if our server could please come to the table. Her response was cold and uncaring. She said, "what's your table number? what's your server's name?", I said Sarah, and she said: "which one?" I smiled and asked if someone could please come to the table. It's been thirty minutes. She replied 'well it's busy, what did you want", I replied, we'd like our meals we ordered thirty minutes ago. She disappeared. Then, Sarah, our server returned with a look on her face like she was being bothered and sarcastically said "the kitchen is behind today, can I get you more bread?" (we were already on our third loaf). I declined and asked to speak with the manager. An older, taller, sturdily built, dark haired woman who identified herself as Sarah the General Manager came to the table and I explained the situation to her. I observed she was also waiting tables. There was no apology, not even the perfunctory response or concern. She had some rather odd and unhelpful comments actually. Like when she satirically asked "what do you want from me sir?" She then asked: "what did you have?" I asked her to check the ticket. She said "we don't have a POS system". I suspect the root issue is our order was never put in. Both steaks arrived 7 minutes later badly undercooked. We felt intimidated to say anything. The service demeanor had changed at this point. We scarfed the potatoes and took the steaks to finish off on the grill at home. I was now overhearing complaints from other tables about similar issues. We left an 18% gratuity and departed. As we walked out we made clear eye contact with our server Sarah and said thank you, good night, she looked away and said nothing with a frown. One hundred and thirty dollars? I understand costs have risen and the current state of the economy. I'm continuing to give restaurants another chance but experiences like this make me never want to go out again. By the way, there were two specials we wanted to try but couldn't due to the price. A fourteen ounce angus beef steak or pan seared scallops for fifty eight dollars each?! I guess the main concern was how the situation was handled and the unnecessary attitude. I understand being understaffed. God bless them. I hope that Sarah the General Manager can hire some staff so she doesn't have to wait tables. The evening needed some leadership, professionalism and courtesy. It would have been nice to receive...

Al-low me to take you on our dining experience at “Porterhouse Steak, Scotch and Seafood”. Arrived and were promptly seated and supplied with menus. Within 5 minutes, a young lady supplies us with water. (That was the last time she came by) 10 - 15 minutes later, our server came up and introduced herself. Sweet and pleasant. We ordered pre-dinner drinks. 15 minutes later, the drinks arrived. While server was at the table. We ordered appetizers and dinner. Just as a note - restaurant was ½ - ⅔ full. Appetizers arrived 20 - 25 later. We started with the ½ portion salad ( great option) and the French onion soup. The salad was fresh and delicious. The French onion soup was a disappointment. The soup was not the deep mahogany color you expect. The cheese was not good and the bread was mush. No crisp bread at all The broth was a very light brown in color and flavorless, the surface was covered in small bubbles ( not a good sign) This maybe my personal preference but I prefer Yellow onions not Shallots. Knew they were shallots, because the onion in the soup where not diced well. Some of the shallots were just quartered. The main course took another. 40 minutes to arrive. Been at the restaurant for approx. 1 hour so far. Wife’s fish was overcooked and dry. I order the 12 ounce Aged Angus Strip Steak - medium rare. What I received was cooked to medium well. Server returned it to kitchen. 10 minutes later the new steak arrived. Server waited as I cut it open. She even noticed that it was still cooked in correctly. It was medium. I thought better than to return it again. Wife was all ready finishing up her dinner. Steak was tough or the knife was dull. Took a lot of sawing to cut through the steak. Steak was tough and dry. Not what one would expect from aged Angus. Oh yeah. The vegetable medley was overcooked as well. The squash was so over cooked, that if you lightly present on the squash with your fork it would mush flat to the plate. The snap peas were the same. The fingerling potatoes/ were good.

If you want to spend an 1 ½ and have unexceptional food and pay $145 -...

2 stars is being most generous - had the view from our table not been nice, a one would have been the chosen star. " had my lady not been most beautiful I honestly would have packed it in. " 25 min at our table, with no acknowledgement beyond water at seating is a stretch. The waitress came by and took a drink order - 5 min later she told us my ladies drink was on the house d/t wait time and left again only to return 20 min later to take our order. My ladies meal was as it should be , but bread was minimal, {seeing as how we had used what little there was while waiting} (and waiting) I ordered a spare rib but received a "chunk" of meat in a weak sauce that had absolutely not one thing to do with ribs- - in fact it was stew beef ( not kidding) when it was presented I assumed the correct product might be under the "glob" of top meat. ---NOT --- the potato's were good although they were dry mix from a box. The beans were cooked properly- but again i missed the ribs. -- I would have loved to stay for a drink but the meal was just not conducive enough to allow -- final straw was check out -- I had to find the bill left on a rail several feet from our table - after that I opted to find the bar and check out ourselves as another delay was already brewing - as noted by no waitress until I actually got up and hunted her down to be sure the check reflected the proper bill. This was far past acceptable and I might have protested the bill itself but for my date My lady saved the eve with good companionship and easy on the eye --- meal not so much ---...
