We decided to try out Public House in Pleasant Valley since west and Maine was closed, arriving at 4:55 PM. Despite it not being particularly busy, we had to wait until 5:15 before going up to the bar ourselves just to place a drink order. The bartender was quick, which was nice — but that’s where the positives ended.
We immediately placed our dinner order after getting drinks, expecting a normal wait time. Instead, we sat there for over an hour, repeatedly asking the busboy for updates and being ignored. Our waitress was just mia even though there was only 3 other table before 6. Finally, at 6:35, we tracked down the waitress to find out what was going on. That’s when she casually admitted, “My bad,” saying our order was never even put in.
She then offered a gift certificate, as if that somehow made up for wasting nearly two hours of our time. I replied, “Can I eat that?” because, frankly, what good is a gift certificate at a place that clearly can’t even manage to put an order through?
The entire experience was disorganized and frustrating, made worse by the half-hearted apology and empty offer. If you enjoy long waits, poor service, and no accountability, this place might be for you. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and go somewhere that respects its customers I recommend...
Read moreThe pictures on here just don't do it justice so please do not judge this place based on those. Several TVs for sports watching. Nice selections of drinks. I ordered the French onion burger with onion rings which was absolutely delicious. The burger was not some frozen patty. It was thick, beautiful and moist. The chef in the kitchen actually knows his temperatures and it came exactly how I ordered it. My son had chicken tenders and fries. The serving was huge. Usually my son can eat a lot but he has met his match at this place. He could only eat half before getting full. My dad and our friend also ordered burgers and onion rings. It was beyond what I expected and I highly recommend this place to anyone that likes good food. There was only 3 women tending the bar and the tables. At times it seemed a bit much for them. Food does take awhile than expected to come out of the kitchen but worth the wait. Overall this establishment was worth going to. My burger was the burger of the day and was $14. Honestly was a good price...
Read moreThis is a great local pub/bar! We started with mozzarella sticks which were perfectly crispy and not oily or overdone, and their Mac and cheese was so flavorful with the types of cheeses as well as finished with a nice crumbling on top. We heard their wings were delicious, so we tried so many flavors- the teriyaki, Kevin's wings and the spicy bbq. All of them on boneless wings and we will be back to try more of the flavors! The drinks were great and plenty of good beers on tap to try. we ended the night with a skillet cookie which was goos- but I just wish it was a little thicker. Great friendly service and staff, clean environment - can't wait to return and try more...
