I am a very fussy eater and when it comes to tacos, unfortunately I have gotten used to average, probably like most of you if you eat around here. Tlahco Taqueria's tacos are superb, easily the best I've ever had, and probably that will go for you too. I have been New Mexico, Colorado, California, Utah, Wyoming-lots of taco paradises but none compare to Tlahco Taqueria. This unassuming taco joint is at the end of a noisy strip mall in Pleasant valley. It does not jump out at you, rather it introduces itself quietly with good lighting, a spotless dining area, and conscientious if over polite service. Once inside, check out the simple and stark but very colorful menu. Perhaps, you have seen something like it before, but I assure you, the flavors here are real, exuberant, and delicate, each ingredient planned out for a specific and unique tasting experience. I am fussy. I was ready to not like this place, but then, because I could not decide, they made suggestions, and I took them. And then I watched the ingredients laid out, chopped, diced, prepared, and I also witnessed them actually make the flour tortilla for my soft tacos. Yes! They make you fresh soft tortillas as you wait. Ok, now I was impressed, but was that too easy? Maybe. So I waited and watched and still I felt impressed by how careful and clean and conscientious they were while preparing my food. When they came out, they were handed over silently and equally silently I was directed to the sauce and salsa stand.
This is where I leave you. I do not want to give any surprises away, but the sauce and salsa stand is reason alone to go to Tlahco Taqueria. Did I tell you I was fussy? Well, when comes down to hot sauce and salsa, I am a mean snob. Tlahco Taqueria might be the home of the best tasting hot sauces you have ever had. Go NOW. Go to Tlahco Taqueria and have the best tacos with the best hot sauces in the Hudson...
Read moreEverything we had was amazing. My favorite were the tacos and I plan to go back and make our way through the menu. This family first restaurant- Casa Ortega has some of the best Mexican food and this new place continues their flare on Mexican food. Their food is some of the best around, do yourself a favor and definitely try their street corn, it will be a must have every time you visit. The sopes were delicious, even without a protein this time. We wanted to try a lot of the menu, so we didn't get protein on everything. If you want to try something new, try their grilled cactus as a protein, very unique flavors and very good. The service is top notch, always friendly and helpful - even when they are very busy. The interior artwork is fantastic and has such a home-like feel to it. You can feel the family atmosphere that went into this place. Their salsa bar is the smartest additional, because you can never have enough of the red sauce or the habanero sauce. Great place, we will be back...
Read moreThe food is what will bring you back. The people at the counter are nice, but the food is amazing and very inexpensive. Negatives: No section for a large group to sit. No vegetarian main tacos. Would like to see tofu or Tempe or something as a protein. All of the dishes are disposable (and recyclable, though you can guarantee, most people do not separate), but it would be nice if it was either on paper or a real dish as I hate throwing out all of that aluminum, and I actually hate eating out of aluminum. Positives: Excellent food Very fair prices They offer alcoholic beverages. Cute and clean interior
I had fish tacos, and rice and beans, which are vegetarian, it cost me $14. Amazing. I’ll...
