To start- SO to Safira- she was a very attentive waitress. My favorite parts of the restaurant: the decor the atmosphere the drinks The place is beautifully decorated. As for food, my family appreciated the tacos, the fajita plate and the molcajete. The food wasn’t necessarily Mexican but generally good. My aunt ordered the cazuela de mariscos and felt it was a little bland but overall tasted all right. I ordered the texan burger. It looked pretty good on the written menu but when I got it wasn’t really what I ordered. I ordered a medium rare and got a pretty burnt patty. The burger was supposed to have ham but mine had none. It took so long for the waitress to take it back and get another one by the time I did get it fixed (as in they just added ham to the burger they took), the bread was so soggy it was impossible to hold. Honestly, it was really hard to try and eat. I had a couple of bites but at that point I realized the burger was burned, bread falling apart and my hands full of sauce. The chipotle sauce was more of a chipotle mayo sauce than really an actual chipotle sauce. (Again not really Mexican food) Honestly, the inside looks great but I don’t know if I would come back specifically to eat here again. There were flies around the food even though we were inside, the food was extremely expensive for the taste, amount, and the ingredients, and on top of our drink being wrong my burger was wrong. The staff was nice enough to bring out a birthday cake for us so it seems to me like this would be a great place for a night of drinks, dancing and maybe some karaoke but maybe not if you’re looking for a great dinner. If you want good Mexican food in the area there’s so many...

My boyfriend's daughter's & I hosted a 50th b-day party this past Saturday night & let me start by saying we were highly disappointed with this restaurant. My boyfriend & I have been here several times & were always happy however the following issues occurred during his party:

When we arrived to decorate the room there were not enough tables & when we asked for one we were answered with an attitude and told that it was a busy night & that they were having a band that night.

Well that wasn't our problem, we had booked & left a deposit for this room as seen weeks ago.

It was understaffed-there was literally one waitress for our party of 25 people who was also working the floor in the restaurant. If you knew for over a month that you had a party booked you make sure you have enough staff on to work that night in the restaurant and for the party. The party started at 6:30 no one ate until 10:00 PM & when the food did finally start to come out they came out one at a time.

Drinks were impossible to get we were told we could NOT go to the bar to order drinks that we had to order from our server. However we never saw her! The margurita's were disgusting nothing but sweet sour mix. The sangria was ok. Food was decent but could of been better. There was no apologies from the manager & nothing was done to make this right. We spent a lot of time & money planning this special event & it was basically ruined b/c the management doesn't know how to staff their restaurant properly. Sadly we will not be back & this used to be a place we really...

So you are here because you are thinking of maybe going to El Toro Loco to eat, well let me say, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Came here on recommendation and we sat for 10 min before anyone came to our table. Then it seemed the hostess became our waitress, took our drink orders finally brought us some chips/salsa and it took another 10 min, when we asked what’s taking so long she said the bar is really busy. The restaurant was empty, not busy at all. We finally received our drinks and told her to cancel our apps and we are just going to leave. She promised it would be “right” out. Nope. When we got our nachos they were cold. We asked for a box and left. We saw another family come in, wait to be seated no one came to greet them and walked out. I see many good reviews so I’m not sure what the heck is going on, but with our experience, they need to get their act together. They do not seem to care nor know how to run a restaurant. We told our “waitress” our displeasure and she just kept saying sorry but didn’t tell a manager or anything. I will not be surprised when this place eventually closes down. Oh and the bill for 2 drinks, 2 lemonades and one...

So decided to finally try El Toro Loco. Upon entering, the place is very nice and open. The staff was very nice and was greeted/seated upon entering. Once seated, I was given a iPad looking thing for the digital menu which I'm not a fan of but it's different. Our waiter brought out chips, which were stale, and a salsa which is made in house that's more of a mole salsa not the usual salsa with tomatoes/onions. For drinks, I did order a water and horchata which was watery and had a very slight horchata taste. The water with ice was also not bad as it didnt have a smell or that wierd taste from most places. I ended up ordering the Rachera burger which was more affordable ($15) than 3/4 of the menu as most items were around 20$ plus mark. Surprisingly the burger was very good except the bacon on it was not crunchy. Overall I would come back but just know most of the menu is 20$ + and molcajete is $47. Thanks for reading my review.

The best Mexican food joint I've been to in Upstate NY so far. We tried their catering - ordered for 42 people, everybody were pleased with the variety of quality delicious food. The food is really on point, always fresh, yummy-delicious-nutritious. The Mexican cuisine is festive itself but this restaurant is so great in providing even more flavor and taste to their dishes. They always improve their menu by adding new tasty stuff. The place is conveniently located on the main road in Poughkeepsie; it's been always a pleasure to visit El Toro Loco %). The staff is always friendly, the atmosphere is hospitable, the management really invests into their interior design - this place is always jovial with seasonal decorations and lively music. Oh, and there are karaoke nights every Friday, from 6-10! Sweet! It's a great place to celebrate any happy occasion too, they have enough room for a big party.

Something about a Mexican restaurant at the end of a strip mall. Nearly all I’ve eaten in have been wonderful. (Why are they always on the far left?) El Toro Loco was no exception. A tasty experience beginning with the creamy dipping sauce that came with the tortilla chips. The margarita was balanced and bountiful. The background music was songs you know by different artists giving the place a coffee house vibe. Nice atmosphere overall - not cozy but not too strip mall. The carne asada tacos were some of the best I’ve tasted - and that is coming from having dined at TexMex across Utah.
