The food was good but nothing to write home about. It was imo mediocre.
I ordered an enchilada plate with a Jamaica water on the side. I got the ground beef enchiladas with the red sauce. I did not like the sauce. The salsa which was brought to my table was delicious but it was tomatoey. I asked for some spicy salsa and the one they brought was just okay. Was spicy but did not have a lot of flavor. The rice on my plate was a good portion and it was actually delicious. The refried beans were skimpy and did not have flavor. They also added cheese on my beans which I never asked for. I think that's something they should ask if you want before serving it on your beans.
The Jamaica water was definitely homemade. But it was a very small portion just like the beans. The plate came out to $20 and some change. I believe that it is overpriced for the quality but that's just my opinion. Maybe it's just this plate.... Who knows. But I can tell you as a Mexican who grew up eating this type of food & to whom Mexican food is home cooked meals. That the food was good but as I stated earlier it's just average not a place I will be wanting to come to every time I'm in the area.
The parking is spacious, The lady is very nice and the restaurant is very clean and homey. It was a pleasant experience overall, as a whole. Although a place I will not visit again.
They can definitely step up their game. That's for sure. But overall was a good experience, I was homesick since I'm a truck driver and wanted to eat some homemade Mexican food which I did. Not everybody can get down but that's okay.
I give this place four stars for the quickness of my order. The politeness the clean and comfortable eating space. The plentiful parking..... And for the food which was good just not great. Everyone can always have room for improvement. Ty for the pleasant atmosphere...
Read moreEverything here was so incredible that I forgot to take photos of anything else after my sopa de pollo came out, but every single thing we had was beyond incredible! We travel frequently and La Cocina Mexicana is without question my favorite Mexican restaurant now- there are some close seconds but this is hands down the best.
Delicious food and drinks, obviously! They also note in their menu dishes aren’t prepared spicy but you can request they be- which is great if you’re with someone whose taste is different than your own!
Their prices are impressively reasonable- you can view their pricing, menu, and more on their site and they offer online ordering!
The space is laid out incredibly well, it looks small on the outside but they have it set up perfectly inside and we felt very comfortable and not at all crowded, even with a full house!
And everyone was so nice and helpful! It was really such a great experience all around. We’ll be making a point to include this as a stop in any of our future travels anywhere near the area for...
Read moreWe were so dismayed by this entire experience. We sat for five minutes before being greeted, and while this isn't a deal breaker, it was a surprise to find that they don't have a license to sell alcohol. We were not given silverware, our drinks sat for more than 20 minutes without being filled, and it took 45 minutes to get our food. When it did come out, two of the plates had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long, making the taco soggy and the enchiladas crusty. The food itself was mediocre at best. $8 guacamole with more onions than avacado, fajitas with a river of oil and no salt, and tacos that were of a quality more akin to Jack in the Box. The waitress forgot to bring us chips with our guacamole, and then never checked back with us after serving the food. We ended up giving the bus boy our credit card to pay. We had chosen this over Raul's and clearly chose wrong. Save your money and hit up...
